Merrill is by far my favorite companion in the game. Too bad the quests are out of order though :/

I always kind of find it sad when people have to take a character and morph it more to their tastes. I dunno, I just always find the original better. "Pretty" really is just so so subjective.

If they want to morph the faces then go right ahead. But I agree, I prefer the vanilla look for all the characters.

Right, I agree. If they want to use them, by all means that's fine. It's really more of a preference I guess.

But there's just something I find unique about the vanilla faces that I like. This goes for everyone including Merrill. I really do like all the party members.

Speaking of Merrill stories, I must say, I would pay good money for a book about what led up to her practicing blood magic, and wanting to leave the clan.

I don't really mind the first one, though I prefer the normal Merrill. But I agree with you 100 percent when it comes to Funky Merrill. Why? Why would someone do that?

I enjoyed Merril, alot.

I wasn't really expecting to either. As she was the last revealed 'official' companion, even though there was rumors circulating for awhile, I kind of worried that there some problems writing her or get the VA to do the lines so she wouldn't be complete or something, or maybe they did just wait to reveal her last.

Overall, her romance was adorable and touching. Also, I don't like the Tali comparisons between Merril and her. They are two seperate characters and two vastly different worlds.

I agree completely. They're nothing alike. I couldn't stand Tali (nor did I understand the fascination with her) but I adore Merrill. The only similarity I can divine is that they're both members of an itinerant refugee culture.

Bioware, Thank you so much much for taking the romance seriuesly, making it what it should be in the mass effect universe...

Now please, could bioware patch the game so that i can do my 2 play through as a mage with a Merril romance that works?

Given that i enjoyed the romance even though it was bugged is an achievement on its own.

Having Merrill along when you're helping Aveline romance the guard is just hilarious... and adorable. Yes, I said adorable.

UGH. I think I've hit another Merrill-related bug. I did the console command trick on the wiki to get Merrill's act 3quest to properly fire, and it worked and all that.

After a while, ALL she says when I click on her is "can we stop at my house in the alienage, just for a bit?" That's it. Anywhere. All her location dialog is overriden by that. And of course, if you go there, nothing happens. It doesn't go away. EVER. After all, it's not her house anymore.

These bugs are *killing* me.

Well, I've never seen an appreciation thread grow this fast in such a short time. 

Either way, now on-topic.

I actually never was choosing on picking a LI, because none of them sounded really interesting to me. Makes sense, as I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the companions that were revealed... Tried to avoid as many spoilers as possible.
That changed, though, once I met Merrill in-game. From that moment I was thinking "Well, this ought to be interesting."

And it was.

I just like it how she rambles on and on and tries not to be nervous, which ultimately fails in the end. It adds to her character... and adorability.

Hmmm... Well, now that you're mentioning it...

Even though I ain't into Tali at all, I have heard some dialogue. And when it comes to talking, Merrill and Tali have much in common (both are pretty nervous and stuff).

Both get flustered quite easily, are seemingly naiive and have the interests of their people held above all else.

Wouldn't be suprised to see Merrilll's face under Tali's mask lol.

She is outstanding in this game, to bad the other sucks so hard. Varric is OK. Merrill is one of the best companions in DA alongside Leliana, Morrigan and Oghren. Thats what I think! : )

I agree. She is the only companion with some depth and personality. I adore her! : )

So I was randomly looking at cuteoverload.com (a webblog filled with pics and vids of adorable animals and such) waiting patiently (HA!) for my DA2 copy to arrive and I swear I squeed more when I met Merril than over any kitten or puppy on that entire website. She's so messed up and by god did we lay waste to her clan but I just couldn't bring myself to tell her what she was doing was wrong. Being Merril's rival would've broken my heart!
