Okay, so I'm playing around with photoshop at the moment and was wondering which one do you think looks better?
Definitely the second one mate. First one is just waaaaay too bright.

I know this is probably a little off-topic, and I apologize for that but I'm just a little curious. It seems like no matter what I do I can only get rivalry with Merrill. I really would like to get Friendship with her to see if that be any different than what I've been seeing. Thanks in advance if anyone has any suggestions.

If you romanced her then she even sticks with you if you decide against the mages in the final act.

Does Merrill only get the white outfit if you romance her?
I think so. Or it's when you get 100% friendship with her. I don't quite remember, since I got both with her.

How? Are you being terribly mean to poor Merrill?
- support mages
- don't be too harsh on abominations
- support blood magic
- support the Dalish
- in general, do nice things

I was actually nice to her, but refused to give her that blasted thing at the end of her quest. Didn't lose a point. Is it supposed to be like that when you max out the friendship/rivalry bar?
I had a lot of friendship, and when I didnt give her the tool I got like 130 rivalry points.Avalla'ch wrote...

She never used blood magic until she wanted to cleanse the mirror. Id like for her to stop using it.Emperor Iaius I wrote...
If you don't support blood magic and demons, why do you even like Merrill? That's like saying you like Oghren but disapprove of vulgarity. It's their raison d'etre.Avalla'ch wrote...

Yes. Once you're maxed, there will be no more changes.

Is there no way to get her to stop with the friendship path?Mary Kirby wrote...

That's exactly what the rivalry path is there for.

I think I will have to go rivalry then on my current playthrough.

No. She will only stop the blood magic on the rival path.

Yeah, I always feel bad when I see anyone get rivalry. I have to stop thinking of it as something bad like disapproval was.Avalla'ch wrote...

Seems like I'll have to pull off the Jerk Hawke again.

That sounds good. I saw the scene where she tells you to go away, and I thought that the romance would be over so I never tried it.Mary Kirby wrote...

I wish we had a proper tutorial on the new system.
Don't think of it as being a jerk. Think of it as tough love. You don't have to be mean to her. You just have to try to stop her. There should be options for that.
If you give her the carving tool, she should be set in friendship. Refusing to give it to her should stick you in the rival path.Somebody wrote...
Is the carving tool what sets the romance into rivalry? Like can I give it to her, and still go with the rivalry path?
