The one and only romance for me, for as long as I'm playing Dragon Age II. She's soooo cute, and cutely dumb :P

When I saw what happened with the Chantry, I was like this:

:huh::mellow:-_-:?:blink::pinched:< insert "OMGWTFH4X" smiley here >

At that point, I really had a hard time deciding what to do... I really liked Anders, but... Was that really necessary??

It was as if Anders thought "Nuke it from orbit; it's the only way for sure!" and stole the GoldenEye from General Ourumov to blow it up.

So I killed him.

This all the way.

Does anyone know if its even possible for her to turn on you or leave if you side with the templars?  I was only at like 25% rivalry and she still didn't leave like the guidebook says, even without doing any of her quests...also I can't get aveline to leave no matter what her approval when siding with the mages.  Also, just to make sure, I loaded a save right after i recruited her when she was 100% neutral, used console commands to jump to the final act, sided with the templars, and she still didn't leave.  It seems to me its impossible to lose merrill, aveline, or varric, don't know if this is intended or Im just doing it wrong/bugged.  It would kind of make sense though to keep a party of 3, because all the other companions can be skipped/die/turn on you.

Well it's impossible to get Varric to leave since he doesn't feel strongly for mages or Templars and thus doesn't really care who you side with; kinda like Isabela. Plus, he's the story guy, it wouldn't make sense for him to leave. As far as Aveline, if the book is actually right for once, then it's only possible to lose her if Fenris stays with you. I think the game has a saftey net and wont let you lose the only two people who could be your tanks (Hawke not counting, since, well, you know). As far as Merrill... well that's really odd, and I'm not sure. She may not leave simply because of what you stated above, and that you can't go below three other party members.

Don't think so because I did have fenris and aveline still didnt leave. I also had bethany, the party size was like 5 I think with 2 warriors and 2 mages so both should have left if I sided with the wrong faction if the guidebook is right.  The only party member I can get to turn on me is fenris, though I always kill anders.

Then it's either a glitch, or the guide is wrong. Neither would suprise me. I would test it more if I was on pc.

I had, and i was happy that Sebastian was so loyal - Despite our beloved Merrill, and of course Varric, he has grown to be my third favorite.

True for my Male Hawkes (although I don't like the dumb part). I haven't decided on which romance I'll do in Female pt...either Fenris or Sebastian.

Anyways, I started putting together a Hawke/Merrill video, meaning every conversation they have. Like when they first meet, do the Flemeth ritual, the conversations at her and later their home and so on. I wonder how long it'll get ^_^

Hm. That's an interesting idea for a video. I just keep "waypoint saves" every time they have a major conversation.

I let Anders live.

What he did was extreme, but oh well. The Chantry needs to change, and Elthina didnt do a damn thing about the templar mage aggression.

GODDAMMIT.

... other than that she is such a cute klutz. And so moe

I'm playing a Femhawke now and romancing Isabela. It's tough, though, because Merrill will be foreveralone.jpg in this version of the DA universe.

She could stay at an alienage somewhere. She can just never return to the Dalish.

I am a weak, weak man.

I had an iron determination to go with the full Isabela love story this playthrough. I really did. I NEVER chose a single flirt option with Merrill to the best of my knowledge (which already took a lot of willpower!). And what happens? She stands in my house, and I felt my resolve crumbling, and at "is it WARM in here?" I thought what the hell, no point in resisting.

Perhaps I'll make it next time. Sorry Isabela.

:P

Does anyone know if the conversation with Isabela about Hawke being with Merrill changes a lot if you're playing as Femhawke? Well, obviously Isabela wouldn't threaten to cut Hawke's balls off, but is there anything different about it other than that?

I sort of picture her getting a bit more street smart over the years spent with Hawke. So if you don't romance her and she ends up alone like everyone else I kind of picture her wandering Thedas like a bad*ss.

But that's just me.

Too bad you can't have a threesome with Isabella and Merrill like we did with Leliana and Isabella in DAO. Otherwise Merrill was just too naive for me. Y'all can have her. I don't see how some say she's "adorable". Really? Like a child with a handgun. I don't feel safe with her in my party.

To each his own I suppose. Although saying she reminds you of a child and expressing a desire for a threesome option with Isabela in the same post does look a bit... disturbing.

LOL! I meant her mentality is as naive as a child with her dealings with demons and blood magic.

Also, Bioware only gave us 2 women to have as LI options. I'm assuming she's of age, else she wouldn't be an option. Though she needs to wise up a bit. You'd think magic 101 would include leaving demons alone. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
If you really want to know, if I'd had it my way I'd choose Cassandra and Isabella.

It did. She is / was fully aware what she's doing, more so than Anders when he chose to merge with Justice. She may be a bit awkward and have absolutely no clue how the world outside the dalish clan works, but that doesn't mean she's stupid or doesn't know her business.

She knew that what she was doing was dangerous, but she didn't care enough.
