Just a question, when the "bugged" aftermath scene starts in Act 3.
I suppose she cries about Marethari's death, but what about the clan, what is their, apparently *default bugged*, fate?

I think the bug makes it that just Keeper dies, not the whole clan.

Personally, I can't stop romancing Merrill! Haven't tried the rivalmance path, mostly because she's too cute to be mean to. I'll admit my FHawke mage had a little diversion with Fenris, but wound up with Merrill shortly thereafter. It's even hard for me to switch her out of my active party lately... Always try to get her to 100% friend prior to doing the "evil tomes" quest so she doesn't get mad at me :-\\

The rival path is actually quite good. I thought the same before, but then I tried it formyself and liked it.

Also a question out of curiosity. Does the ''I love Hawke'' party banter between her and Aveline happen on both path's or just friendship? It was one of the most heart warming moments in the whole game especially when it happens right after A New Path which was depressing all the way through. Her asking Hawke to kill her if something goes wrong and than seeing how much the Keeper loved her. To a point when she has put Merrill above the clan and sacrificed herself just to keep her safe.

Yes, it still happens.  I do agree it was awesome.

I struggle not to metagame. I'm at 70 friendship coming into Act 2 simply because I was nice to mages in Act 1. Now I'm going around destroying the books and worry that I'll end up in the middle.

Oh, the rivalry path is my favorite, hands down. As soon as I started planning Merrill, I knew that I wanted to have that moment where she accuses you of sabotaging her life, and her subsequent apology at your house.

Awesome.  That was definitely my favorite moment with her character.  I couldn't believe she kicked Hawke out of her house at first but then I thought, "Wow, this is some good, angsty stuff...I luvs it!"

You get rivalry from Merrill for destroying books? What books exactly?

Oh, one more thing, I really wish Hawke had something nastier to say to Anders when he questions your relationship with Merrill saying she will always choose her demon over you... Made me want to cut him right there... But no, I can only say "Merrill and I love each other..." Seriously...

 @einherjar81: I was the same way. Anders is really nasty to Merrill. After killing the keeper Anders told Merrill that the world would be better off without her in it. Pissed me off, I wanted to deck him. 

I love Merrill. Mary Kirby did a fantastic job writing her, it's scary really.  Can't decide if my main Blood mage Hawke will give her the tool or not. She'll be max friendship by then anyway.

On the bright side, if you bring Merrill with you during his "Justice" quest, she will chew him out.

@jlb524 Never saw that one! Guess its because with either my rogues ore my mage Hawkes it would have been a pretty ineffective party :-/

Damn, I wouldn't have had to use the console for rivalry points if I'd done the pre-req for that quest.

I tried bringing Merrill to Zevran's quest but never got a comment. Do you have to flirt with Zevran to trigger the LI reaction?
