i was just very sad that the keeper has to die for her...is there no way to reverse this? damn.. there should be more choices available (like in DAO)

Maybe. I used all flirt options with Zevran. Then Merrill chimed in during Zevran's parting words. I love it.Northern Sun wrote...
I tried bringing Merrill to Zevran's quest but never got a comment. Do you have to flirt with Zevran to trigger the LI reaction?RVonE wrote...
Zevran: "...Unless you want to get to know each other a little better..."
Merrill: "I think we've heard enough from you."
Merrill is cute and all, but I love this hint of a possessive side to her.

Anders was better in Awakening, i felt like i betrayed Sebastian when i didn't kill the bugger in my most recent save.dantares83 wrote...

I's quite something that Merrill is actually the only one who openly wants to keep him in the party. I would have imagined myself clabbing my hands in want of the killing blow, had i been in her place..
She's so forgiving..

Yes, she is... because even when I don't side with templars...in all of my playthrough Anders will die...for his actions( not to mention I don't want him retconned into DA 3).
I will also say her comments to Zevran are damn hilarious...and here's an interesting tidbit...if they had given Merrill the creation tree in the game...she maybe considered the best mage in the game( if you build her properly that is)

Consider also that if you try to sell Fenris back to Danarius, Merrill is the one who's the most upset about it.
And Fenris has never said a polite word to her in his life, and has perhaps (and note, I am a Fenris fan... which is why I've never brought him to Sundermount in act 3 again after the first time) the single most horrid insensitive 'Dude, what the hell?!?' conversational moment in the game, when he literally doesn't wait until Merethari's body his cold to start tearing Merrill a new one.
All that and she'll still go off on you for sending him back to Tevinter.
She's got a heart as big as all the world. Pity she's also got absolutely no luck at all.

I wonder what is Mary Kirby's favourite relationship path with Merrill
Oh, the rivalry path is my favorite, hands down. As soon as I started planning Merrill, I knew that I wanted to have that moment where she accuses you of sabotaging her life, and her subsequent apology at your house.
Wow I didn't think I'd get a response. Thank you for that and for creating Merrill.

Well I guess that's where our Hawke comes into the picture. :wub:Bringing some happiness into her life.

...Is that during his companion quest? I never got his companion quest.
I would love to sell him back. I never liked him. Hence, I never use him. Not that I need him anyway...
The only companions I ever use are Merrill, Anders and Aveline. Since I'm a rogue myself, I don't need an archer. And two mages deal more damage than one mage and one archer anyway.
Anyway, I find myself unable to start a rivalmance with Merrill. I just can't be mean to her.

Anders only gets in the party rotation at all when I'm doing sidequests that require him.

You don't have to be mean. It may be more difficult to max out her rivalry without being an ass to her but it is possible. You have to keep her away from the party (at least until you max out her rivalry) for the quests that involve saving Mages and siding with Mages or generally quests that could give you a massive friendship gain. In ACT II when you get the Forbidden Knowledge quest take her along with you and destroy all the books. This will net you +50 rivalry. During her personal quest choose the options which try to prevent Merrill from dooming herself and don't give her the blade. With this I think you will be able to get her to around 60 rivalry without being mean. The next 40 points I'm not sure where you would be able to get from but I think you can score some in the Night Terrors quest.

60 nothing. I didn't give her the blade during this play through and it netted me a solid 85 rivalry.

I always have her nearly maxed out in ACT 1, but i think she still gets full rivalry if you don't give her the tool, even on max friendship. Have't tried myself though.RVonE wrote...
