There's a quest in Act 1 where Templars are disappearing. It turns out a blood mage is attempting to turn them into abominations.

You rescue a young Templar named Kaern and have to determine if he's possessed or not. If you use Merrill, she'll sniff his blood and say she can't smell any demons in it.

I dont normally post here as I am way too old but as a Welsh person I would just like to congratulate the writer(s) on getting their characterisation so spot on . Merrill actually reminds me of an amalgam of two people I used to work with ,one from Aberdare and the other from Caerphilly. Obviously the voice actress helps but for someone who has probably never been here to come up with a character who really could have come from 10 miles down the road from me is an amazing achievement . Anyway , kudos for a fantastic job.

I think Merrill was in my party so much that she was probably losing sleep over it. Or could of used a bath from all the constant wandering around.

That would be kind of neat if being possessed by a demon actually changed you scent at such a level. It would also be a chance to put some perhaps funny smells in. 

For instance, I wonder if Anders is peculiar.

I used Merrill and Anders all the time. Those two were great, Anders hate of blood magic, and Merrill going on about him and Justice made for some good banter.

I was half expecting for a cutscene to start where Merrill confronts Hawke: "Look Hawke, I really like you, but my feet are simply killing me!"

I prefer having Fenris and Sebastian in the party alongside Merrill. Everything she did annoyed the both of them.
