I prefer having Fenris and Sebastian in the party alongside Merrill. Everything she did annoyed the both of them.

Oh yeah, Fenris too. I didnt use Sebastian too much with her, I should in my next run.

I remember a banter between him and Fenris where he says that they should report Hawke's apostate friends, and that they should draw lots on who reports the maleficar.

Are you able to deal with the lack of Anders' healing?

I had Izzy, Merrill, and Aveline in my first playthrough as a spirit healer. Not sure what I should do for the second.

Merrill has been my last companion both times though. I can't imagine my PC running off to Sundermount without settling things in the city first.

Sadly, his healing is unnecessary on normal difficulty.

I do use Merrill alot, mainly b/c she's the awesomest mage and is a total beast in battle.

For every fight except the High Dragon. Had to switch out Aveline and Isabela for Anders and Varric, because I'm much better able to deal with hard fights when I'm the only melee.

For Emma, my party was Varric,Isabela and Merrill(no warrior ftw)

Emma was the healer and Merrill was the haxer and damager. Varric was a supporter and Isabela didm ost of the action.

It was a cool party.

I love it when she's all decked out on rock armor and her Dalish Pariah talents activated. A beast in combat and looks the part as well.

I used Varric, Anders, and Merrill in my first run. Although I put Anders in after I lost Bethany.

I was the only one in the team that fought up close.

So at least another week of broken Merrill.

Yeah I'm not really surprised. I kinda think this will be a pretty big patch to begin wtih, plus it takes about a week to approve it with Xbox Live and PSN.

I did the one-on-one duel with him, so I don't know how that would have turned out

Also, what difficulty? I played on Hard... doing Normal for my second run-through (because the combat isn't something I want to worry about the second or third or fourth time through*)

I hope they also fix the bug with Isabela's passive friendship ability. I guess I'll have to put my next run off another week or so.

Oh it was brutal.  The Sarrebas are really good at taking Merrill and Anders out with ranged magic. Plus the AI on some of my damage dealers caused them to basically run right next to the Arishok to attack certain enemies or cast certain spells. 

Basically I wish I could have dueled him because otherwise it turns into a barroom blitz.

Yeah I also spent a lot of timein DA2. By the time I finished I really had to play something else. I was pretty burned out. 

I would also like to see Hawke return with Merrill by his side in Dragon Age 3. That'd make my day for a continued relationship.

Id like to continue playing as Hawke in future games. Or at least in a good expansion.

I need to look into that then. In act 3, my Hawke moved like he was under water.
