Does it have male Hawke's grandpa hands?Systemlord Baal wrote...
Like I said a few days ago, I was putting together a video of scenes focused on Hawke and Merrill. As you might suspect, it's not a short video^^

Please say no.
And wow! 48:35 minutes of Merrill! That is... that is...
...too long for me to watch in one day.

Well, when I first saw male Hawke's hands, I thought they looked old and wrinkly. Especially with those brown spots...Systemlord Baal wrote...
hehe - good thing you can jump to specific points in YT videos :-)

Blergh. How can my Hawke have such hands?
It's terrible, I say!
If you want to know what I mean, just look at his hands closely:
It's not the best shot of his hands, but I couldn't get a better one.
Perhaps it's a bit of an exaggeration, but I do think they look like grandpa hands.

Ah, I see what you mean. Maybe it's the lights, but the hands do seem a bit older than the rest of the body. lol ^^
...Or, at least, that's my experience.

Just curious, but do we ever find out which elven god Merrill's vallaslin represents? I know we never got a breakdown of which tattoos represented which Dalish gods back in DA:O, but now that we have a Dalish companion, it just made me curious.
I have been wondering this for a while as well.

I read that Merrill gives 15 rivalry points if you accept responsibility for her in "A New Path." I romanced her so there was never any change in her Friendship, but I was curious why she would disapprove of this dialogue when she seems distraught over fighting her clan (if you killed them all) while she admits to Hawke that they probably would have killed her if you accepted responsibility.
I doubt she'd want you to take responsiblity for something she did. Which involved the death of someone she loved.

Yeah, the Keeper tried to take responsibility for her actions as well, and look how that turned out.
Exactly as intended?

Actually, that situation almost didn't work out as Marethari intended. She did it to save Merrill's life, but having Merrill kill her still makes the whole clan try to kill Merrill in retaliation (unless you take responsibility of course). I was blown away that the Keeper didn't have the foresight to realize what would happen, she must've been well aware of how the rest of the clan felt about her First. And she was sitting there for SEVEN YEARS, how could she not have seen it coming? That really frustrated me. For someone who's supposed to be old and wise, she went about it quite poorly. It was a reckless and stupid decision on her part to intervene the way she did.

Indeed. The more I think about it, the more I think of Marethari as a senile, hypocritical, overbearing wretch.

I guess those that claim they just copy/pasted the romances for each gender are wrong.
I notice other small differences b/c the Male Hawke was diplomatic while the female was funny.

I still think the pride demon would have gone into Merrill and turned her into an abomination. Nothing good could have come from fixing that thing.
Well, except perhaps restoring a priceless bit of ancient technology . . .

I always sided with mages, but not with blood magic. That got me some rivalry. Just dont give her the carving tool, and you're set on rivalry.Shavon wrote...
Replaying DA2 with a mage. How hard is the rival romance going to be? Most of my tendencies usually earn a LOT of approval from Merril right away (helping mages, etc)

The Pride demon was never trying to possess Merrill, though. If Marethari is to be believed (which is a big if), then it wanted the mirror to be completed so it could enter the material world without having to possess a mage.
Marethari just let it in willingly, so the mirror became superfluous.

You might want to try siding with the templars as a mage. I found it a lot more interesting, got to befriend Fenris and Carver, and maxing rivalry with Merrill was a breeze.
