Anyone else stuck in Act 3 until the patch comes out? I still can't start her Act 3 companion quest because of the glitch and I'm reluctant to do the other quests right now in case any of them conflict with the patch in some way (e.g. if the patch only fixes it if you play from the start of Act 3 onwards).

I appreciate the suggestion but it's more that I don't want to spend hours playing (possibly even getting right up to before the final mission - it all depends how long the patch takes to arrive) only to then have to do it all over again. The feeling that everything I'm doing may be for nothing would take the fun out of it.Knight of Dane wrote...

Consoling Words not triggering
I'm hesitant to advance further in Act 2 without knowing if Merrill is already all bugged up and I have to restart the Deep Roads expedition, start using the console or something
Thanks.

Merrill doesn't have that conversation if Bethany or Carver join the Grey Wardens.

It always goes auto-complete, without even doing a real thing.

That you should only get if the sibiling dies in the Deep Roads. It auto completes itself for me as well when it should not even appear.

After the Deep Roads, if you didn't take your sibling with you, Consoling Words was supposed to trigger. Mourning did not.
But if you take your sibling along, then Mourning does appear. Except it auto completes itself.
If the intention was that Consoling Words would be the only talking quest after the Deep Roads, then what's the purpose of the quest Mourning? Why have that quest in the game, when it is completely useless?

Mourning - Sibling dies in the Deep Roads. (If you trigger this before exiting the Deep Roads via dev console you can see that it is/was meant to happen before you go to see Mother)

I got Consoling Words after Leandra died.

Anyway, now that there's a reading mistake on my part, I think that it is more than clarified for me.

That's the talk she was going to have if your sibling died or became a Grey Warden. It was supposed to be cut (There's no opportunity to have this talk between that event and the time-jump.) And it seems to have only been sorta-kinda-cut.

Oh... wait that does make sense for it to be cut doesn't it? Because technically it's three years later right after the deep roads expedition. In which case if you did talk about your brother/sister dying with Merrill it would be a pretty delayed conversation.

Thanks for telling.
...Wait... Wouldnt the same apply to Consoling Words then? I mean, your sibling goes to the Circle (don't know where Carver goes, though), so the first opportunity to talk to your companions would be three years after they went away, yes? Provided they didn't join you on the expedition.
Or am I just confusing stuff??
...Oh sod it. Just... nevermind. I'm only making this harder.

I had Merrill and Bethany in my party throughout Act 1 and thought I'd heard most of their banters. But when I talk to Merrill, Hawke says that Merrill never liked Bethany. I had no clue there was animosity between them.

Since your Brother or Sister isn't dead, you're still dealing with them being gone for 3 years, and yet they're right next door to you. It's still a current issue.

Same here. That caught me by surprise. I had expected they'd get along.
[EDIT] Huh. I guess I didn't get that dialgue after Leandra... maybe it was something else?
