Excellent, something to look forward to! You should be paid for that kind of work.

Believe me, I've been trying to. Graduated with a BFA in December 2009, and I'm still looking for a full-time job. Had a few small commissions and a seasonal retail job, but that's it. Art's not an easy career to break into, especially now. :(

On a lighter note, glad you're liking it so far! :wizard:

I knew it was too good to be a passtime. If it makes you feel any better, I feel like I'm stealing art now Posted Image

Ha! Nah, it's both something I want to try and get a career with, and a beloved pastime. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

Thank you. And indeed. But even though it's been a pain in the arse to find a job with it, I'm glad I got it. Even if I don't end up in an art-related field, I learned a lot while at school and it's really helped to improve my skills.

And to keep this on topic, here's another panel rough WIP from page 3:

Yeah, I hate that there's this endless pressure for people to have "useful" (i.e. employable) careers: we're not automatons. Moreover, it'd be very sad if we were. The arts are what make us human. Creativity is what makes life appreciable.

That's a great profile of Merrill. It actually looks like her!

I completely agree - trouble is, even when among other creative types, jobs aren't garrunteed. Art's a pretty diversive field (my personal focus is illustration with a little graphic design), but also a highly, highly competitve one. Especially when jobs in it are especially scarce at the moment.

That's a great profile of Merrill. It actually looks like her!

It helps that I have several thousand screenshots I took between my first three playthroughs. :D References galore!

And here I was thinking working your soul off to some corporation is the meaning of life.

Seems there are quite a few Leliana fans here too. Makes me think that to most here, the dream group would be Warden, Hawke, Leliana and Merrill. Correcto?

This. :D

Then there would be three rogues and one mage in my party! Yay! :D

Maybe it is a bug but - Merrill is a bit... crazy right?

Merrill "Oh, I would love to see the Fade, you will bring me wont you?"
Hawke "Alright, you can come"
Merrill "Happy happy joy joy"

Merrill rivalry +15.

Bug. I took her to the fade with Isabela and Aveline and she gave me friendship points for it.

Just to clarify, this isn't a bug, as the friendship/rivalry points are attributed to what you say to Keeper Marethari about making Feynriel Tranquil. If you choose the top option, where you consider it as a possibility, you get rivalry points, whereas if you choose the lower option, where you flat-out refuse to, you get friendship points. This applies to Anders as well. Also, having Anders with you doesn't make any difference either, as I took them both with me (as well as Isabela) in the same party and got friendship points for both of them. Furthermore, I have done 'Night Terrors' this way 4 times and the outcome has always been the same.

For me it would be two mages, one warrior, and one rogue. The perfect party to make difficult encounters trivial

I also could throw in this mod I have which would turn Leliana into a mage...

A "hot" (in game terms, that is) redhead shooting fireballs. What more does one possibly want? :wizard:

A couple more questions - After Merrill shows up at Hawke's house and declares her love in the bedroom, does picking the 'That's a little soon' option kill the romance stone dead forever? It's not that I want to end the romance, but the only other option is 'hey, lets move in and have a lovefest' , which just really doesn't seem to gel well with the rivalry romance at all. I'd prefer the more cautious option but it does have that blasted broken heart symbol.
Also, after fully romancing Merrill, does continuing to flirt with Isabela raise any interesting love triangle situations as in Origins? Considering that for my a**hole character playthrough, as I noticed I could still flirt with her.

Why doesn't Merrill buy any shoes? She complains about her feet for 7 years.

Im pretty sure it kills the romance. She says something like "I knew I'd mess this up" and leaves.

And I think if you are with someone by act 3 there are no more flirt options for anyone else.

I actually went through every Tool song I have to try and fit one to Merrill... "Parabola" was the closest I got.

Most characters didn't get their own theme. I believe I read somewhere that Inon Zur stated in an interview that there was a lot of rushing done for the DA2 project. At the very least, the soundtrack leaves a lot to be desired for.

EDIT: oops, I kinda expected that someone would've posted by now. Sorry for double posting.

Balls, it just doesn't seem fitting for the rivalry 'tough love' thing that it goes all soppy and they move in right away.
So even if I continue to flirt with Isabela in Act 2, nothing else will happen? :( Shame, I was looking forward to a nice confrontation scenario.
