It can still be saved, if we hurry.

Yes Pol.
Anyway is Merrill's romance bugged or does it work fine? I'm asking because some people (myself included) can't get her last companion cutscene to trigger.

I'm still not sure I believe the demon. It told Marethari that it would jump out and possess Merrill so that Marethari would free the demon. There's no reason to suggest that a demon--bound to the statue, not the mirror (which isn't even there)--could leap out. The mirror is from Ferelden, it has nothing to do with the demon in the statue.
Certainly that's a possibility. At the same time though, it can be safely said that demons don't really help people out of goodness of their heart and look after their own interests first and foremost. As such, it's rather given that there was something beneficial for the demon either in the act of fixing the mirror itself, or in whathever it was that the demon was planning to extort from Merrill in exchange for the help in fixing it.

And how many times has Hawke said, "I'm going to do something stupid and horribly dangerous. Come along and help me?"
How many times that happens depends entirely on the Hawke you're playing. The argument pretty much falls apart if you don't.
tmp7704 wrote...
Also, not all things horribly stuping and dangerous are equally stupid and dangerous. While the game fails to actually show it when push comes to shove, an unleashed pride demon is supposed to be on top of the danger scale, to the point where lore states how "a greater pride demon brought across the Veil would threaten the entire world". Out of all examples you give only one in on the equal scale, and it's entirely optional.

I thought the Dalish had their "no joining, no sex" thing (or was it only that Cammen needed to be an adult for it?). So I assume she was a virgin.

I've been wondering something.
Mary Kirby(talking about the "virginal girl-next-door thing"): "Er... Jennifer was talking archetype, not describing the actual sexual history of any of the characters."
Weird question coming up.
Does that mean Merrill isn't a virgin?
Why does it even bother you?Malevolence65 wrote...

It would be sort of funny if both Merrill and Isabela had slept with the Warden prior to meeting Hawke.ishmaeltheforsaken wrote...
Well, that was part of my warden's backstory. I don't know if they ever had sex, but there was romance. I decided this after Merrill gave my warden the eyes when she left with Duncan.

Luckily, I didn't have a Dalish Warden. Provided this is true, that is.
Considering even Merrill didn't expect her Keeper and the tribe to still be there by the time she went to talk with the demon again, years after, that'd be some miraculous planning.LobselVith8 wrote...
Or the demon Audacity planned all along for Marethari to make a deal in order to protect Merrill from any risk.
Well, we know Merrill isn't really against the concept of demons possessing people if that means Merrills gets what Merrills wants. Or at least, that she doesn't appear capable of defending herself from this kind of persuasion. We also have no idea how Merrill would have handled the demon, because Marethari acts before we can get any idea about how Merrill had planned to handle Audacity.
But discussion was over whether Merrill is old/experienced enough to be involved in such dangerous activities. Hawke is a separate person with separate set of qualities, and as such what he/she does with his/her own life is also separate matter.Although Hawke doesn't have to bring Merrill specifically, he does involve himself (and others) in very dangerous situations.
And none of these things Hawke has handled is supposed to be on level of danger/power that's pride demon released into our world. She trusts Hawke, sure. And it's cute and no doubt makes Hawke feel all warm and tingly. But it's a pretty blind trust considering she doesn't really know if Hawke is capable of handling something this big.Yet Merrill knows that Hawke has handled abominations, demons, dragons, darkspawn, and Qunari. She would trust that he could handle himself to deal with an abomination if it ever came to that.

Well, I don't think anything not in-game is really "true," per se. But she totally gave me the eyes, godammit, and there's nothing to contradict it.
