To answer Maria's original question, though: Kenley picked the romance special option. My rogue, Declan, suggested she continue studying Dalish history. I don't remember what my warriors said.

Isabela: Big damn heroes!
Varric: That's right.
Merrill:...I don't get it, I thought we were already heroes.....
Hawke: Just let them have their moment.
Nah it needs to be Merrill being rescued for some reason so one of party members can say. "Yeah but she's our witch, so cut her down."

At the end of her quest, what did you guys suggest she do: Whatever she wants, Continue looking for Dalish history, or Help the alienage?
In a non-romance playthrough I think I told her to help out with the Alienage, I'm not sure. Otherwise I picked the romance option.

I would pay to see this. Seriously.
Oh and I forget if this was brought up before or not, but did anyone ever get this conversation with Anders? I never did, and I'm a bit glad. There really should have been an option to hit him.

I'm pretty sure both siblings have to be dead or Warden'd, and you have to be romancing Merrill. I really want to see the scene, but Merrill's condolence quest is bugged, so if I lose a sibling (either way) I can't continue with her quests or romance her. Shame.
You do get to stab Anders!
And Dalish, that's a great strip.

If by stab him you mean use him in a blood magic sacrifice as an unwilling host for Audacity. Imagine it an Anders with not one but two demons occupying his person. Straight outta Jade Empire.

Doesn't that mean that Anders could hypothetically deal with Audacity without risk of becoming an abomination, since he already merged with Justice?

And by 'use him in a blood magic sacrifice as an unwilling host for Audacity' you surely meant to say 'tie him up, gag him and make him Merrill's personal blood reservoir to use whenever she performs blood magic'.Blackout62 wrote...

I thought it'd be more like Anders would explode with demon-flavoured goodness. I suppose your idea is fine, too, as long as you can shank him afterwards.

The more I play DA2, the more I dislike Anders. Which has never happened before as I always love all BioWare characters in their games. But Anders... ugh, he just keeps pissing me off.

Even as Wardens, your siblings get kidnapped. They have to be dead. Then it's your LI that gets kidnapped if they're not in your active party. If they are and/or you're not romancing anyone, it's whichever companion not in your party that has the highest friendship rating.DoNotIngest wrote...

I suggested to help the Alienage, but in retrospect I think that siding with the mages means that's not going to be a possibility. I wonder what Merrill would want to do, though, after DA2 concludes. She stays with Hawke, but I'm certain there are places she might want to explore, or people she might be interested in meeting. I wonder how she would react upon meeting Ariane and Finn, and learning about the functional Eluvian in the Dragonbone Wastes.

Ew. Not even Merrill's scarf would make that mess look pretty.
I think I went with the romance option, or maybe I said continue with your research. They're Options #1 and #2, in that order, for me, though.
Edit: Emperor Ialus I presents: Merrill's Tevinter Ascension, the new DA2 expansion. Really, though, I don't think Tevinter would take too well to Merrill's attempts to restore Arlathan.
