Got a science lesson here.

inorite?

Flemeth does lie a lot. She doesn't even use blood magic, does she? Probably something nobody else knows, that makes BM look crude. Still, BM is a lot more intimately connected to life just because it's blood.

Isnt she an abomination of sorts? I cant imagine that she has never used blood magic before in her centuries of life.

Flemeth was also talking about the taint being helped for a person, not an object. Besides, she tends to be very selective in the information she gives.

I was referring to Maria's comment on Beth/Carver being cured of the taint, not the mirror. And like I said, maybe Flemeth was lying, but I dont know. Would be interesting if it could be done though.

Well I'm sure the taint can be cured. Nobody knows how to do it though. Also Wardens are never really cured of the taint, its always there, within them.

Actually, even Flemeth says that the only cure she knows of for the blight is to become a GW. If she cant do it, then I doubt Merrill can.

Fiona was a Grey Warden, contracted an accelerated taint, and was cured. That would likely be even harder than someone who was infected in the regular manner as David tells us that a Grey Warden gets a massive dose of the strongest taint (archdemon blood) during the Ritual.

There is a cure but Flemeth doesn't know of it. Merrill might know it, but she never tries to use her 'cleaning' magic on a person.

He also said that it can be potent darkspawn blood that is magically treated.

And wasnt Fiona only cured because of the Architects magic, that was taught to the First Enchanter?

Oh I thought when you meant they were a GW. I dont know though, Im sure that would require a lot of power. Shes gunna need to slit her wrists real deep for that.

She can tap my Lady Hawke for a pint.

I don't mind giving a reasonable amount, but a pint?  That's very nearly an armful.

*wonders if anyone will get the reference*

I made it for the Motivational poster, but I'll put it here too.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love Merrill. Buuuut she is a little naive at times, and that can induce a headache or two.

No, they never did figure out exactly what cured Fiona's taint.

"A fist-bump would have had me on the floor.  I imagine merrill would miss the first time. "

"You're right, Merrill would probably look at your fist with a bewildered expression. Scratch the fist-bump cut scene."

"Mental image of Merrill taking a swing, missing, and falling flat on her face with a squeak while Hawke just slowly facepalms... priceless."

If anybody needs FanArt ideas... Here's one of tha best.

Err. I didn't think the blood writing would be that invasive.

Can you imagine the lineup when "Clan Blood-Tattooist" opens up? Cammen wouldn't have needed any 'ol Warden!

Tattooist: So, Tanesha, how've you been?
Tanesha: Umm... Good, I guess?
Tattooist: Great, great. Alright, done the calf tattoos, moving on up... Posted Image

Hey man, so when Merrill gets kidnapped and you rescue her. She says some mad sweet ****, and so I was all like, 'That was mad sweet'.

Thought i'd share my thoughts on the matter in the most elegant of ways.

It's not the same thing. The taint was on a mirror, not flowing in the blood like a virus.

Why would that make a difference? We're not talking about someone who has had the taint for years or even a Grey Warden who's undergone a magical ritual that introduced a massive amount of taint to their body and bound it with lyrium, but someone newly infected.

Why couldn't Merrill's blood magic clean the taint from Bethany or Carver's body when they first get infected?

If I have a drop of blood with AIDS on my arm, I'd wash it off and be ok. Same if it was on an object. If I have my entire blood infected by AIDS, flowing in my heart and veins, there's no going back. You can't wash that off. It's inside, and flowing.

Ew. Why AIDS?

Replace AIDS with with HIV (Literally. Wrote the wrong word. FAIL moment. lol), or any kind of corruption gained by infection. I'm basically just saying a corrupted object being clean is not the same as an infection that needs to be cured.

That settles it. I'm killing Carver.

Does Carver still die if Nathaniel is alive? I've heard that you don't need Anders because Nathaniel rescues your sibling or something.

Yes, he still dies (assuming Anders isn't in the party). Nate is only related to him because he shows up in a later quest in the Deep Roads and if Carver was made a GW, he'll be with Nate on that quest. But you still need Anders in the party during the first expedition for him to survive.

Killing your siblings is no bueno man, they don't get kidnapped if sent off to the Grey Wardens do they? I've never done that as I can't stomach taking Bethany into the Deep Roads, but that seems better than offing your siblings. I think.
