While I still like the blood image, I prefer the happy-Merrill ones. The book one is definitely one of my favourites, even though I always roll with a male Hawke (I can't think of anything I could possibly say against female Hawke), as that's just me.

Edit: Torax, I thought it was established that Merrill's tongue isn't raspy, because she said DeLauncett boy's was and he'd do a terrible job? Posted Image

No she says his tongue isn't raspy enough. That he'd just drool all over the place. Raspy = good.

Meh, whichever. I haven't played DA2 in over a week, waiting for the patch on Merrill's Act 3.

Within the next week or so from what I have seen. (And hope)

Depends like assuming there was a patch for it. Would they delay one for the PC or say PS3 if Microsoft delayed it? So that they patch all at once? Or would they put them out for each as they ready? Time will tell.

I love how this thread's title would probably be lost on Merrill.

Varric: So I heard about you and Daisy. I'm happy for you -- she's a keeper.
Hawke: She is indeed.
Merrill: Not really. I was only ever the First to the Keeper, more like an apprentice. I don't think I would have made a very good Keeper, anyway, Varric.
Varric: No, that's not what I meant. I was talking about you as a person.
Merrill: Keepers are people too. What else would they be? Don't be silly.
Varric: Just.... never mind.

Well, someone needs to get on the penultimate. Because blood is sexy.

Oh, there's plenty of that. It's just not bothersome.

For instance, I quite like this one even though it's a sad scene. The one with the book is still my favorite, though.

*snip*

That one's my desktop wallpapre :P

My favorite's the one MorningBird did of Merrill and Lady Hawke in bed, BUT I'M BIASED?

Not sure I've seen that one.

Maybe or that it makes a good contrast. Could be a response to how the Rival relationship works. But that could also mean reading far too much into it. Like the red for tears in the other pic.

I think MorningBird just liked the colors, but I'll ask her and find out for you guise.

[EDIT] Yup, she just liked the color scheme. BECAUSE I CAN READ HER MIND.

Oooh, very nice. Seems to me there's more just-Merrill ones than Merrill+Hawke. I think I've seen a lot more Merrill+FemHawke than Merrill+MaleHawke, really.

Oh, I was just curious because I can never pick out important parts of art.
Really nice piece though.:D

I kind of stopped looking in the Fenris thread when I realized most the fan art seemed to be having him be an Abercrombie & Fitch model. I'm even more afraid to imagine what they do with Anders. Then again the one I mostly will never unsee is one of Varric all nude with just bianca hiding his umm lower reaches.

Edited to add.

I really love the Merrill fan art cause at least most the ones you all post seem to respect her and not objectify her like they do the guys. Granted I assume some of Isabela's art is probably as bad as Fenris & Anders.

See? This is why Merrill and her thread are the best character and thread. The closest to that that's been posted is at least artsilly done, and doesn't come off as, ah.... Naughty.

"Which half?"

DO NOT WANT to answer. Both are teh undezzirables. This isn't artsilly.

Edit for the above's edit: This is what I mean. And it's why I'll avoid all other appreciation threads.

I have a question. Is it me, or do Merrill's stories seem oddly appropriate or allegorical to the situation?

I just head Merrill's Dog story, and also Merrill's later story when you give her the Sylvanwood ring...I get the impression that the Dread Wolf is playing its tricks in Kirkwall, and that Hawke having the Dog around helps keep the Dread Wolf at bay...that the two groups of -- were they spirits? Elven gods? -- are akin to the mages and the templars, and ... I don't remember enough of the dialogue in the Ring "cutscene", but how the two groups had to be cut off and separated from each other seems oddly metaphorical too...

Yes, I'm rambling, but did anyone else pick up on this too, or am I just crazy?

Maybe it's reading to much into it or maybe it's not. Would be more a question for the writer that wrote that part and applied it to her banter.

It has it's similarities. Maybe you could think of Hawke as the Dread Wolf, though it's very vague. And in Kirkwall's case, the sides are tearing each other apart, unlike the Elven Gods ;)

Been a little while since I posted, but a few points to add, most from a few pages back:

1. There isn't enough fan art/fiction of Merrill, period. Though I do agree there's more Lady Hawke and Merrill stuff than male Hawke and Merrill, in both art and fiction. Really, there's more stuff of Lady Hawke in general. Much of it is nice, but I would like to see more man Hawke stuff, Merrill or no. But that's my personal bias.

2. Someone mentioned the Fenris fan thread swooning over his "caterpillar eyebrows." As someone who personally has a weird thing for ridiculously bushy eyebrows (Shut up, they're expressive and I like expressive!), I can't say that I blame them. :P

3. That grayscale Merrill fan art is looking great! To the artist, I say you have a much better memory than I do. And better painting skills. Bravo, can't wait to see it finished.

4. I've seen that red/blue Hawke/Merrill fan art before. It's adorable and I've always liked Wispy's style. :D It does weird me out just slightly though - make her skin dark, and that Hawke bears an almost uncanny resemblance to my only female Shepard. O_o

5. More fan art. This was a stupid idea I had a while back and couldn't resist indulging in while taking a break between my schoolwork and other art projects:

That is BEASTLY! Great job! Posted ImagePosted Image

1. Great, now you're making me feel bad that I've not updated my fanfic. I've just been lacking a lot of sleep, I just get a dull, blank ache when I try to read through my second bit and try to figure out how best to connect with the characters' personalities. I'll have to get over myself; It's been over a week. It's great how most of the fanart and fanfics find their way to this thread, though. Even better that all of them do, while "sexy Merrill armour" doesn't.

I like female Hawke, and I love Merrill&female Hawke fanart/fanfics, but seeing how I roll with a male Hawke when I romance Merrill (Every playthrough; What can I say, I like to emulate myself in a game, and I wouldn't be going for anyone else), I wish there was some male Hawke&Merrill fanart. I can't recall any besides yours, at the moment (which is A+).

2. Considering I've never had a great relationship with my father (he goes from loving to volatile so quickly, it's ridiculous), I rarely like bushy eyebrows. They go fine with a beard, though.

3. +1

There's plenty of Merrill fanart that doesn't, which is why I said I had issues with the Hawke/Merrill art you see out there.

Really? I suppose it's probably for that reason that it hasn't popped up in this thread.

There's the nude one of Merrill with modesty preserved, but it's not just some pervy image; At least, I didn't think so, don't know about anyone else.

Oddly enough enough there are nudes of Merrill kicking around even in this thred but they're all so artful, a few of them make Donatello look like Cranach.

There's only the one "nude" (quotations because she's covering herself in all the right places) pic in this thread, correcto?
