Well, that's creepy.

Incessant is my favorite word.

I'll always pretend that if Hawke and Merrill ever had a child, it'd be a cute-as-buttons little elfling, taking after Merrill Posted Image Ah, being such a manly man this evening.

EDIT to Dalish: I don't know, it just seems like there's not near as much leadup to the pulling-onto-bed scene. I mean, it's the first time you've kissed the socially inept girl, and she's faithfully leading you to your own bed? What's going on?

Considering all the romances don't have a lot of lead up (for the sex scenes and otherwise), I tend to fill in the blanks with my imagination. So it feels like there was more stuff that led to that point. That's the context I take the scene in.

Edit: Maria, what happened to Merrill's heathen eyebrows? <_<

I wouldn't know about the pr0n, but it seems prevalent enough in comedy TV shows.

I agree that sex would come later. But hot, passionate kissing? She'd be all over that.

Maybe. I still feel there's too sudden a switch from awkward to passionate. I'd have liked more of a smoother transition.

Perhaps it's simply like snakeskin. Scale treated until it's relatively smooth to the touch.

Ah, perhaps. "Snakeskin" is still called such even though it's scale. This is probably a better idea than the alternative.

I love the "Varric just isn't going into that much detail with Cassandra!" excuse. Gives me +100 imaginationz Posted Image

That edit wasn't there when I quoted! I'll just ignore it. Heathen + Merrill x same sentence = sadness.

To be fair they still look a bit like the elven parent. At least in Feynriel's case. Plus they are still half elven even if they don't look it.

I could be misremembering, but I think one of the devs (Gaider, maybe), did mention that elf-blooded humans do retain some elven features, even if they are considered human.

Other than aiming a fireball at her face, I'm not sure she could magick them away.

I've been pretending they'll pursue adoption. Some story of an orphaned elf child mage that is nearly captured by templars but saved at the last second by Hawke and Merrill. We keep hearing about how the species is dwindling due to interspecies relations, Hawke and Merrill seem like the type to keep that kind of guilt out of their relationship.

But who knows, I also always imagined my Human Noble Grey Warden adopted Iona's daughter and raised her in Highever out of guilt/sympathy.

1st Quote: Oh, the innocence... Posted Image

2nd: But the ears! I want the elfy ears!

3rd: It's too far gone for that. I think I'll have to get into a fistfight with a wall.

Well, since I'm already being a wuss...

Merrill's shoulderpads are actually made of the moulted chick down from all of those poor little birds she'd nursed after finding them fallen out of their nests.

EDIT: Half elves are only considered human? But I thought they just *were*, essentially, human? In that case, that isn't so bad. Now I can just pretend Hawke's father's father's father fell in love with the First of another Dalish clan camped near Lothering Posted Image Voila! Excuse for Elven child, found!

Ignoring the geneological clustercuss, Three quarters elf? That child would either be creepy as, well Feynriel, or a perfection of mixed race genetics appropriate of a fine South American actor/model.

It would be 1/3 elf Garrett + full elf Merrill. Name: Merritt

So if Charade were to pop in at the Hawke estate in act 3, how would you introduce Merrill? After 3 years, "girlfriend" seems inefficient. Best I could think of was "pseudo cousin-in-law".

I like bad puns, I cannot lie. :P

My younger cat (the one that sleeps in my room), is very, very skittish. Also extremely sweet and loveable. But he jumps at the slighest noise.

@Northern: Lover, significant other, life partner, etc... "Lover" seems pretty standard, though.

Snarky Hawke does outright refer to Merrill as their "Dalish Lover." I imagine Hawke would keep using to that term to irritate and confuse people while Merrill just takes it in stride.

Edit: I've been wearing headphones all night, I wonder what Merrill would look like with earmuffs. Dalish you know you want to draw that.

Feynriel looked decidedly more like his father but with sharper elven facial features. So while the ears on a Merrill/Hawke child would optimally pointy, I'd settle for their kid to look more like Merrill.

Teen-Hawke: What? Why're you staring at me?
Hawke: *sighs* You look so much like your Mother.
TH: Really? She says I take more after you.
Hawke: Oh, maybe in stature and attitude but I mean... your face, your features.
TH: Wow.
Hawke: Yeah, so much like her, expect for - you know *pinches peach fuzz* - the facial hair.
Both: *chuckle*

She walked to Hawke's estate and told him/her how she felt and made sure she didn't leave without, well, showing Hawke too. Her innocence and naivety are great personality traits, but it doesn't make her any less of a person.

It's hard to be mad at my cat for pawing my nose, it takes him so much effort to get up to face level. He's 11 and has three legs. Determined to show me that he thinks I should shut up, though.

Still not on topic, but does anybody know where that picture went of Alistair holding a cheese wheel, hiding behind a tent in the DAO camp? I really, really need it.

Edit: Merrill in earmuffs would look funny. Cute, but in an odd way. And with her only understanding half of what you're saying (or trying to read lips...), plus her rambling nature, would probably result in many the useless (though hilarious) conversation.

D'aaaw. Our oldest cat that passed away last fall was just shy of 15. Now our oldest is almost 9. She's affectionate, but a bit of a brat an attention hog. :P She can't stay down here overnight without waking me up at some point, so she sleeps upstairs. The younger, skittish one is just barely a year old and follows me everywhere like I'm his mother.

Does this Alistair and cheese thing have anything to do with Merrill's giant wheels of cheese inside her hut?
