SO! I have been talking with some people.

Mourning is still bugged. IF you load a saves in the deep roads.
The flags for it are set during the choice of who comes with you.

If you get through a save before that point you can get it.

Mourning? U mean Merrill's mourning for A New Path, or is that some other quest that is bugged for me and didn't turn up...

Its when she talks about your sibling dying in the deep roads.

What? It's the same generic model as the regular Dalish armor. It's not really hers. The original armor is unique and may be properly said to be her definitive physique.

I am not entirely sure, however, how bosoms can be "awesome" nor why we are examining them. :P

It's the same physique, though. It's just more apparent with her mail, because the cloth robe is all baggy and stuff.

I'm not entirely sure how bosoms can be aweseome either, but they are.

My husband tells me this (or a variant thereof) all the time.

Him: "Boobies are awesome!"
Me: "I always thought they were kind of boring."
Him: "If you think boobies are boring, you're looking at them wrong."
Me: "So top-down is the wrong way to look at them? Damn."

No, you're not. Aside from the fact that Merrill's face looks nothing like Merrill's face, I'm not of a fan of the concept. It can be interesting to transplant fantasy characters into a modern setting, but that's just... eh... *shrug*

I like the concept, but, aside from maybe Anders, they all look... off. Poor Merrill's expression, in particular, looks a bit like a blow-up doll.

I agree with this...there is jsut something...off about the appearance of all the characters...particularily Merrill in this case...

In fairness, this is someone's artwork that they're sharing with everyone, and I (and many people) couldn't draw anything better. We're allowed to not like it, and we're allowed to say why, but let's be careful not to step into "bashing" territory.

[EDIT] For clarification, I don't think anyone was bashing it. I just don't want anyone to start :)

I totally agree, and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or deride their effort!  I am happy for every piece of Merrill-related goodness folks are willing to share!

This.

I'm not crazy about it, but it's still something someone placed a lot of time and dedication into. And considering that I can't draw to save my life, honestly, I'm the last person who should criticize.

*uses shield bash* (Note: shield bash is different than "bashing")

Can't stop me!

In all seriousness though, I can hardly criticize it. I can't draw for ****.

Also, I actually like how Fenris is drawn. He looks pretty decent.

Regarding the patch...

The "Mourning" quest mentioned earlier is a quest you only get if your sibling dies or becomes a Grey Warden. If they become a Circle Mage/Templar, you get a different quest named "Consoling words" (or Comforting Words, I don't recall correctly). The Mourning quest was the one that was bugged and is still bugged IF you load a save past the start of the Deep Roads expedition. If you load a save prior to that, it will work fine with the patch.

The bug that we all know and hate, Merrill acknowledging the end of her quest in act 3 before it even begins, has been fixed provided you load a save prior to entering her house in act 3. So any save from act 2 or before, or even one from act 3 where you still haven't entered her house (thus triggering the bug) will work fine. If you load a save from act 3 where you already got the conversation prior to beginning the quest, then nothing will be fixed. That is to say, once her quest is complete, the conversation won't trigger as it should.

I'm really looking forward to doing a debugged Merrill romance Posted Image Of course, anybody who doesn't want it spoiled should probably stay off the thread until they've done it...

Eh, I had already seen it by using the console to skip the buggy parts. It was nice watching the proper conclusion.

Or it just wont appear anymore?

So long as you load prior to starting the Deep Roads expedition, it'll work properly.

It also says in the description that Varric will now correctly recognize the romances. Does this mean we get a conversation with him about Merrill like you do if you romanced Anders?

No. The mixup is fixed, but if you wouldn't have gotten the conversation anyway, you still won't. That bug's still open.
