Leliana was cute and goofy. "Cute" characters are not without precedent in DA.

Incidentally, I think Mary wrote most of Leli's dialogue.

A while back....on this thread, Mary said that Merrill was extremely cute and prone to saying adorable things, my playthrough as a Dalish elf was a while ago, was she always that cute? I feel like I missed out somehow.

She was a little bossy, that was the vibe I got anyway, but there really wasn't much to her character in the Dalish origin.

Her goodbye is one of the ones I remember in the leaving-the-clan scene.  She looked really broken up.  So I guess that could be translated into cute.

Of course, I also remember it because she was usually naked at the time.

I think a great many things are MORE out of place. I think a "cute" companion will be refreshing. I mean. I really liked Sigrun as well. I mean. technically Alistair and Anders were "cute" too and they are well loved

I wouldnt say Anders was cute.. More like.. Charming or something.. 
But yeah Sigrun was very cute.. She's pretty much the only dwarf I'm even slightly attracted to..

If you don't benefit from things being cute? I don't know you could try hitting yourself with a cute stick...or just a regular stick maybe a concussion would help. I suppose in her defense things were really going badly for her clan at the time and we could attribute her stick in the mud behavior to copious amounts of stress.

Anders was cute? I wanted to punch him. Lots of time. His voice and his sexyness and the fact that I would have to use Velanna if I killed him were the only things that stoped my hands to take his eyeballs off of his face.

If I must be on topic I must say her new look has grown on me, it's like when I make a character and just after I finish creation I realize it's deep in the uncanny valley. Then I start to like it and go on to awkward creepy eye relations with Morrigan. Feel better afterward.
