...
I added another scene to the story effectively doubling it to 1666 (magic number!) words. Enjoy!

Given the blood rainbows would it be really something she'd need consoling over?Blackout62 wrote...
We're doing fanart suggestions? Cause half an hour ago I had the idea of Isabela consoling Merrill due to the latter being in pain after having her ears pierced by the former.

Merrill is used to slitting one of her wrists. I think stabbing and infections, she's less accustomed to.

I was thinking more along the lines she's routinely doing much larger holes in her skin, and is used to that to the point where she doesn't appear to as much as wince. Not sure why it'd be any less prone to infections, too.DoNotIngest wrote...

I would think that a puncture is much more enclosed and moist, so would be more prone to infection, whereas her wrist-slitting obviously isn't very deep, otherwise she'd be quite dead. I would think, too, that she would be extra careful to keep it clean; seems like blood magic 101.
Not saying she'd make a big fuss over ear piercings, mind you. She'd probably just be unaccustomed to the type of pain.
EDIT: Off topic, but can you only use the Bioware-provided images for your picture? If so, I'll leave mine be, but if not, I'll put something there.

There's a work-around people use -- you replace a picture for one of your DA characters with a custom one, then when you run the game it gets uploaded to social site and you can use it as your AV, then. I'm not sure if it works for DA2 characters as well.DoNotIngest wrote...

On topic: So, I'm guessing no response meant that there's not Chapter 2 for the Merrill&SerrahHawke in the mountains?

You don't have to have the PC version of Dragon Age to do it. You can also use the character creator. See here.DoNotIngest wrote...
Off topic: Oh well, guess the roboface will have to do.
On the note of earrings... I don't think Merrill would even bat an eyelash at the pain.I have two piercings in each earlobe myself - and one of them I had to get re-pierced a few years ago. I'm a total wuss when it comes to pain. I barely flinched getting those piercings. Just saying.

Considering I've never had any enter-flesh exit-flesh piercings (other than stepping on a rusty nail), I'll concede here.
Dalish, you working on anything new?

Yes, it does work for DA2 characters.
About the piercings, I don't see Merrill making a big fuzz over it.

I'm rather attached to the roboface now, actually. I was only going to replace it if I could pick my wittle frilled shark:

I was thinking "Finn". Oh well.

It helps that earlobes are just a thin patch of extra flesh. No muscle/bone to go through. Now, if she was getting her upper ears pierced, where there's cartilage, I can see her finding that painful to some degree. But probably still not a big deal.DoNotIngest wrote...

Yes. Dragon Age related, but not technically fan art and not related to Merrill. Sorry.
Edit: You can use that picture as an avatar, if you go the route of the tutorial I linked earlier.

Oh, I've had Merrill breaks before. Kenley's not my only, nor main, Hawke. He's my very close secondary, but rogue Declan Hawke is my main.DoNotIngest wrote...
Awww. It leaves me feeling like a would have laughed if I had the context... Well, at least now you've had a Merrill-break (never thought that was possible...). Now get back to work!
It's based off a (currently) Orlais/Dales-based story a friend and I are RPing/writing for fun. My muse is pretty much focused on that right now, artistically and writing. So everything I'm drawing right now that's not commission work or my comic is related to that. You can PM if you want context/details for it and other art related to it, but I won't drift further off topic here about it.
I do have one Merrill/Kenley art idea drifting around, but it's not solid and I don't have the motivation to do it just yet.

So, remaining on topic (for once), there's been more speculation recently that they might continue with Bioware for DA3. Now, setting that debate aside, I wonder what Merrill would do in Orlais (where Sandal goes, story is sure to follow)?

If Hawke romanced Merrill and the "disappearance" mentioned by Cassandra becomes part of the story, I can see her in Orlais. I'd imagine that a Dalish elf would stand out, though.

You know, playing in Orlais would almost be worth it if the Nobles loitering around the city you're in commented on you and your companions...
Orlais, hub of shoes. Merrill, dirty bare feet. FTW ! !

Dirty feet? People remarking on Merrill? Now I want Hawke take Merrill into Val Royeaux. Bethany and Dog in tow (and avoiding the White Spire).
What would Merrill want to do in Orlais? I can imagine Merrill befriending guard dogs and picking flowers from the houses of high nobles and the merchants trying to push their fancy shoes on her.

Hah, can you imagine? Seeing her with a bulging bag of gold on her belt and shoving a bunch of shoes in her face, she says "Oh, no thank you, I don't wear shoes." I wish I could see expressions for that!
Leliana would have probably dropped dead from that comment alone.

She'd probably do that before swinging from the chandelier.

Chandelier? Why use a chandelier when you can swing from the Oeuvres d'Art in the Museum of Orlais?
