Hm.. Somebody made a summoning mod that replaces the dog with something more interesting. I'm having difficulty deciding between a desire demon or a dragonling. Both are adorable.

Just summon another Merrill. That's right two Merrills! One to rivalmance and one to friendmance.

Nope! Far easier.

Place the erf (and only one of them at a time!) in documents\\bioware\\dragon age 2\\packages\\core\\override\\patch .

The patch + Anders's outfit + this summon thing is sufficient for me to replay DA2 as a mage. Except as a male this time, just to be different.

My mage is a dudeHawke. I'm actually liking him a lot. It's already way more fun than my rogue, because I don't want to romance Merrill

There's already a mod that lets her have the Creation tree. I thought about picking it up, but in my warrior playthrough (am at Act 3) I never needed the creation tree or Anders.

Same. I brought him along for fights that I needed a lot of staying power in, like the High Dragon, but other than that it was the Merrill (and Bethany, when applicable) Show. 

I haven't even bothered to take Merrill into her Pariah tree, since I don't trust the tactics to properly handle switching Blood of the First on and off. I just maxed out her Elemental and Primal trees and went to town. Did the same thing with Morrigan back in DA:O, except I maxed out Entropy there, totally ingored healing magic, and made Wynne sit in camp and brood about what she thought Grey Wardens should be like.

Ha ha! That's one way around the temptation! Going to romance anybody else with him, or are you just going to enjoy blowing **** up with your MIND?

(Because, hey... That's like... 95% of what mages do. Well, my mages, anyway. )

Aw, hey - nothing wrong with Ish preferring the lady on lady lovin'! I admit a certain fondness for f/f Merrill myself - I just happen to prefer RPing m/f in my plays.

lol Im just kidding around. I have to do a ladyhawkexMerrill romance eventually to see the differences in dialogue. And now that her bug has been patched, I can.

I don't know yet. Probably rivalry, just by virtue of Marcus being a badass head a-sploder, but I'll see what happens as I RP him.

I'm about to release my next chapter to my Hawke/Merrill fanfic tomorrow, and I am not quite sure how to conclude it.

I'm planning to have Flemeth come up and take Merrill hostage as a guarantee that Hawke will do a certain "favor" for her. Is that within Flemeth's character? Or should it be something more subtle?

Oh, definitely more subtle. I don't think it would be out-of-character for her to use Merrill as a guarantee... it's just "kidnapping" that feels much too overt.

Yeah Flemeth seems to really be into seemingly benevolent acts on her part that really only further her own goals and you only realize afterwards the possibly horrible thing she did or caused you to do.

So I finally got the (monumentally adorable) romance scene with Merrill where I asked her to live with me. The way Hawke cups her cheek is just priceless.

Something I've started doing with DA2 is tweaking Hawke's looks to reflect the influence their lover would have on them. I think I had the most fun with Merrill.

Before (Act 2, she had the default Hawke hairstyle in Act 1):



After ( 
I think Merrill's influence is obvious. ):



I imagine the conversation went something along the lines of:

"Merrill! I can't look like this!" 
"Why not?"
"I need to project authority, sweetie."
"Won't the lighting bolts from your fingers do that?"
"You're... impossible, you know that?"
"I'm not. You managed to do me, right?"
*Hawke slaps her hand over Merrill's mouth and smiles nervously at her mother"

It took me a while, but I think I've got it! Totally dragonling.

Actually, what I might do is start with the dragonling and then switch to the desire demon once I get strong enough to deserve one.

I'd imagine saarebas could be neat. Especially with mage Hawke, Merrill, Anders... and Fenris, just to give the last one an aneurysm.

I actually *would* suggest dragonling, but I like the idea of starting with one and switching to a desire demon later on as well.

I'd also suggest you romance Fenris with your Denarius looking dude and either take screenshots or video it. I know it might be difficult but it would also be vastly amusing to me.
