I can't get any of the rare dialogues. Because I'm horribly impatient and refuse to stand there and click away at a single hotspot as it plays the same dialogue over and over. Why don't they have it just go through a set of responses instead of randomly calling one?

Because then that wouldnt be frustrating enough for the players.

I really wish they had done that. It took me like 10 minutes to get the dialogue about her watering plants from the letters.

That looks like a fine picture so far. Love the face. Keep it up.

Does anyone have a video for the Merrill version of Varric's "Friendly Concern" quest? The new patch should have fixed it.

You can get alternate dialogues in the Estate hotspots? Argh!

With a great deal of patience, for the most part.

Honestly, I wish they'd done away with the hotspots and simply had more character interaction inside the estate, if that's even how such things work. More than one line from Merrill would've a good start, at least.

Sort of. They're all shown on that one, with the Merrill specific lines towards the end.

The new patch hasn't fixed it. Maybe for 1.03...

Hm. But it works if we trigger it via console, now? I want to see that dialogue, but I'm planning to maximize romances this playthrough: which means I & F first, followed by M. The first two will be sent packing, and M will be invited to move in. I wonder how that'll mess up the dialogue.

Make sure you walk around with Isabella and Fenris in Act 3 and you'll find out what those two have been up to after Merrill moves in.

After a few rage induced (4 I think) "thermo nuclear erasing" on her face, and several ( I mean SEVERAL!) quick face study sketches to work out my hand/eye coordination and proportions,  I have it down to something decent... I still need to fix the tattoo on her forehead, and her chin/lips need more work :( being a disfuntional perfetionist blows *sigh*

now if can only get the hair right before my mental doomsday clock reaches midnight <_<.

I will get rid of the mirror, focus more on their faces/chest.

now, to sleep I go before I Shift+Delete the whole thing and gnaw on someone's trachea in a fit of extreme belligerence.

cheers!

Outstanding work Broutefoin, if your going to be work up the whole thing as you have Merrills face, just wowPosted Image
Makes me think i need to try harderPosted Image. keep it up, but it looks like it could take some time, if your going to keep it all at the same standed as her facePosted Image.

Why is it that in the ten year span of DA2 we never once see Hawke's birthday celebration?

And why is it we don't get to see what our romances options do on that day.

Any birthday celebration my Hawke partook in would've likely involved Merrill, a locked-and-bolted bedroom door, and an explanatory diagram supplied by Isabela. Presumably that ball of twine Varric gives her, too. It wouldn't be suitable for impressionable young minds to witness.

I would have really liked to see a wedding celebration for Hawke and Merrill, or whatever romance the player chooses, within reason. Of all the things I disliked about Fable III- and that's a long, long list- I loved that you actually got a little marriage ceremony with your npc romance.

Then again, neither Fenris or Isabella seems like the marrying type, at least throughout the main storyline.

:o I can see my Hawke doing this as well.

Merrill and Hawke totally got married between Acts. They had their honeymoon on Sundermont, but there were some party crashers. Luckily, they still managed to have some fun.

For some reason, I get the feeling that wedding ceremonies are rarely ever celebrated in Thedas. Perhaps it's because we've never seen any of them in action (with the exception of the City Elf origin).

Would they be able to?
I don't thin females can marry but even a male Hawke and Merrill would likely not do it either. For all that happens Merrill is still Dalish to root and i doubt she wouldbe part of a marriage ritual involving the maker.
And no Dalish would wed a human in beleif.. :/

You need the Chantry's permission officially. But you would probably have some evil blood magic marriage in Tevinter that involved the sacrifice of 20 slaves.

I'm pretty sure if Hawke and Merrill wanted to just say they were married, or hold some bonding ritual and call it marriage, or anything else, the Chantry couldn't do a thing to stop them.

Oh I know. But I imagine that normally a "legal" marriage would require the Chantry.

I'm not sure the law has anything to do with marriage in Thedas.

True, they havent said much about it. It is used for like political ties though, but we have not heard much about it ingame.
