Oh no that's totally in game. It just occurs when Meredith's health is so low that usually you can kill her before she does it. If she does it though it's pretty emotionally effective, she'll stab her sword through whoevers nearby and hold them skewered on the blade while she taunts. (I've had it happen with Varric, Merrill, Aveline, and Carver.) When it happened to Merrill I was pretty damn struck by the image of our beloved elf completely limp, barely able to hold onto her staff as she dangled on Meridith's sword.

Pssh... It's a good thing my Hawke is total Awesome Sauce and take down Meredith pretty quickly. Actually I think I got this on my first play through when Meredith skewered Carver. Initially I thought "That ******? I'd let you have him if he didn't just grow some pubes just now and finally joined me." And then thats when Isabella killed her.

I don't think she ever gets close enough to Merrill the entire fight. Of course I have her tactics set to Awesome. With My Warrior, Merrill, Varric, and Bethany the end fight takes like 5 mins.

Never seen it since my epic lv. 50 team pwns her to pieces. Wonder what that looks like

Trying something new, mainly seeing if I can quickly put down something that looks like Merrill with little to no shading, if I can get comfortable with that, I'll try my hand at a short comic or two.

YOU CAN'T HAVE THEM! I failed math (and most of my schooling for that matter) in order to work up my skills, and they aren't even that great, heh, so no, they are mine! all mine!

Edit:  although, if some are interested, I could post my facial proportion studies/formula that I made to help me draw Merrill quicker and more accurately.

Nah that was just older piece i had lying around   the conversation above and some other one just reminded me of it.

Not seeing DAO Merrill look really any more stern btw; when i was going through pictures of both, it seemed DA2 did good work keeping the features close overall, minus the obvious nose and eye differences.

I guess it's just a side effect from the overall elven re-design. She just seemed a lot more... fresh faced? in DA2.

Or perhaps it's because she actually smiles now.

to trigger it via the command console, type runscript zz_vrc_debug and go to jump to conversation, and other, there should be romance commentary , and for prerequisite for the quest, one of the devs said that you need to be in a romance and complete anyone of the qunari related quests (like blackpowder courtesy)

I would likely feel for fenrise try to help him but also try and show him a counterbalance to his argument.  

Isabella would be a mate someone that I'd take to the pub for a pint but also someone that would have to work hard to urn my trust completely.

Merrill would make mevery nervous with the things that she is involved with but her energycuriosity and good heartedness would soon win me over. I'd not try and stop her with whatever it is that she felt she needed to do but make sure she knew that I didn't like the way she was doing it. But Ithink I'd have her back when the sh#t hit the fan I'd ready to comfort her and such

I don't think I'd have anything to say to Fenris or a Fenris-type. I just don't hang out with people like him? I dunno he seems more like a fantasy trope than a personality. I don't hate him or anything, even though he initially annoyed me in game. There's just no connection for me there.

I know a few girls like Isabella, although certainly not as dirty (or deadly). They're fun for a night out and a romp around the room.

Merrill is a little too naive. In real life it would get annoying real fast. That said I could listen to her read a phone book. So yeah, anything that involves me just being able to sit back and listen would be fine.

Regarding "archetypes," I've known a few people who dealt with culture shock, and one of my friends is from Turkey and is adjusting to how things are here right now. I see Merrill the same way, dealing with a culture that has no experience with and everyone around her taking such things for granted.

If we're talking about the actual Merrill, do you mean if we were the real life Hawke? My Hawke is currently a rogue and not a particularly hard-line Andrastian like Sebastian is, so there wouldn't be any issue of thinking that she is supposed to be in the Circle or anything like that (which seems to be what Bethany deals with because she's a mage). I'd say that coming from a family of apostates would probably gear him towards being comfortable with Merrill as an illegal mage.
