That's a very sweet painting.

I'd never thought about Varric as a father-figure to Merrill. I'm not sure how much sense it makes to me. He seems more like her uncle.

Yeah I'm not sure if that's platonic or Varric being a dirty uncle. Art is lovely though. Not getting a platonic vibe, a sad one maybe.

I think what bothers me is that he has his face buried in her breasts. So it's more like she's comforting him? I think if their positions were swapped it would work.

I would likely feel for fenrise try to help him but also try and show him a counterbalance to his argument.  

Isabella would be a mate someone that I'd take to the pub for a pint but also someone that would have to work hard to urn my trust completely.

Merrill would make mevery nervous with the things that she is involved with but her energycuriosity and good heartedness would soon win me over. I'd not try and stop her with whatever it is that she felt she needed to do but make sure she knew that I didn't like the way she was doing it. But Ithink I'd have her back when the sh#t hit the fan I'd ready to comfort her and such

I wish I could meet Merrill. Or hell even someone like Merrill.

So if you're a person who is short and you hug a taller woman it is automatically a sexual situation? Children do this with their mothers, sisters, etc. It doesn't mean it's a sexual act, it's a matter of anatomy. It isn't like he is motor boating or something ridiculous like that, it's an embarce. 

Jack wasn't sad that she was abel to admit her feelings to Shepard, that was a happy scene. Tears don't only mean sadness.

No hugging allowed.

As for Jack, yeah sure those tears are partially happy tears I guess. I got a feeling there was letting go as well. Maybe the animation didn't do the scene enough justice. Then again I've only seen it on YouTube. I'm more of a Tali guy myself. I'm a sucker for the woobies.

If I met Fenris I would probably try not to antagonise him, I like my heart where it is. Although he seems serious and broody most of the time we do get some hints that he can actually be fun (playing cards and letting Isabela guess his underwear colour) so maybe I could get on with him.

I'm sure Isabela would be a lot of fun on a night out. She seems like quite a practiced drinker though so I'm sure she'd drink me under the table. I think anyone could get along with Isabela she's so easy going.

Merrill's adorable and I love her stories about the Dalish. I don't even think blood magic is bad so I'd easily get along with Merrill. Like Merrill I tend to say silly things when I'm nervous so we could end up getting into babbling match.

Loving the Merrill art.

Varric is definitely a father figure to Merrill. Yet another reason why everyone should love both Merrill and Varric.

One thing I noticed on my 4th play through the other day was at the beginning of Act 2 when you first go talk to Merrill she expresses her concern over Bethany going to Circle (the convo changes slightly if she goes to the GW's I believe). Anyways Hawke comments that he thought that Bethany and Merrill didn't get along, but I never got that vibe at all. Their banter seems pretty friendly over all. Carver seems like he gets a little annoyed by Merrill but the only people who don't like her are Fenris and Anders.
Just curious if I'm missing something.

Bethany is anxious around any other mage because she's an apostate. That combined with Merrill's seemingly care free attitude makes Bethany more than uncomfortable around her. Hawke assumedly was getting more of Bethany's side of the relationship because their siblings, so he just assumed they didn't get along. Believe me I have a sister, they're very good at even unintentionally twisting a situation to make them look better.

Perhaps she's anxious. I just didn't get it from the dialog in their banter. Even with Anders she doesn't seem that nervous. In fact I kind of got that feel that she's a little sweet on Anders.
It's fine if there's unseen stuff, I just never got the vibe that Bethany and Merrill didn't get along. I was wondering if they butt heads during a quest or something if you bring both of them along.

(I do know that Bethany is shocked at first that Merrill is a blood mage, she just never makes anything of it after that scene on Sundermount).

Does anyone know if you're supposed to get rivalry in the Fade for not turning Fenreyal into an abomination? It seems out of character.
