Do you have the console enabled? Enabling it prevents data from being uploaded.

Only for DA2. DA:O is a fresh install off of steam.

I liked how her rivalmance played out, but getting there wasrough at times. While I liked not having to coddle demons to keep her happy, but I still felt like I was kicking a kitten whenever Hawke would snap at her =(

When snarky Hawke feeds her the "Gettin' good at this 'hero' thing." line it breaks my tiny, pervy heart to hear her say "I don't need a hero".

Wait, when is that line? I replayed the rivalmance conversations three times each, there's no way I should have missed it.  Nothing to see here, comrades.

Ummm... have you tried using the Character Creator? In any case, it can sometimes takes days (yes, days) to upload. I uploaded Merrillcat and then completely forgot about her until a week later when Maria messaged me saying, basically, "WTF?"

Also, what changes in a Merrill romance, if you play it like a rivalmance, but with full friendship?

That's because we're all good weird here.

Likely nothing. That's... a weird question. If you play it "like a rivalmance," then you're probably going to have rivalry points.

I think Ms. Kirby said in a previous thread that you're not supposed to be able to have full friendship and keep the arulin'holm or vice versa. If you are able to do that, then there's a bug at work somewhere.

If you've treated her as a friend up until the knife quest, and then stab her in the back and keep it, you'd likely end up somewhere around the middle, unable to get anything accomplished (as it should be). The system rewards consistency.

Weirdness is good.

Also, I posted the answer to that question on the last page. If you're already at full frienship and keep the knife (stupid name... x.x), you trigger some of the rival scenes, but the romance is still stuck on friendmance. It's definitely an odd situation and one that appears to be a bug.

I agree. Even though Bethany mentions it again when they talk about the Dalish not having a Circle, there's never a vibe that made it seem they didn't get along, particularly after Merrill's dialogue with Bethany about eating a cake the size of Kirkwall or having a pet griffin named Feathers.
