Did anyone else glitch when they romanced her after getting her clothing upgrades and having the upgrades vanish?
Yes
I lost the rune slot. Wish there was some way to retrieve it.

I have an idea on how to do my next playthrough, and I want to share it with you guys:
This Hawke will be a warrior templar, and will side with the templars most of the time. However, he does not hate mages or magic, but he only trusts Bethany and Merrill. I plan to have him friendmance Merill, but will still warn her that messing with demons is bad, and hopes that she finds another way to fix it(of course, we know that can't happen.) What do you think?

So you're playing Ser Thrask? I'd agree with the friendmance though. Contrary to the specialization your Hawke wouldn't actually be a templar and also not being a mage wouldn't have the deepest understanding of the finer points of blood magic, the fade, or demons. Or at least that's how I'm justifying my rogue Hawke friendmancing Merrill. Well that and he's rather the libertine.

I was considering making Bethany a Grey Warden, but maybe her being a circle mage would be better for the story.Blackout62 wrote...
Ooh is your Hawke going to enter act II with Bethany in the Circle and Hawke on a Thrask-y downward decline into a state of prostitutes and rash decision making that only averts an eventual demise by Hawke trusting the right blood mage whose sweet face and benevolence keeps him from falling?
*heart melts*And to get back on Merrill: That sweet face.

Has anybody ever tried using the angry response when Merrill mourns over Pol and asks why he ran? Hawke calls him weak, and Merrill--Merril stands right up, gets up in Hawke's face, and basically calls you out. She says that he wasn't a coward, that it took courage for him to leave his old life, and that Hawke of all people should understand.
Whoa.
I am so proud of her.

Damn, I was gonna play a jerkish FemHawke who had a soft spot for children and strief ridden elves but the possibility of seeing angry Merrill. Screw it I can make an exception for Pol, I can always make an exception if it means I get to insult a Yuri Lowenthal character.

Oh, I'm going the friendship route with Merrill (and rivalry with every single other person) but I'm still picking the mean responses. I just want to be in character.
Which character? This one.
Oh yeah.

What! They're adorable together. They mesh so perfectly. They're both blood mages, they both like history, and Fenris hates both of them. What more could you want?

Time for a quick question. Can I rivalmance Merrill succesfully and give her the Arulin'Holm?
It's because I think that I have no right not to give her this relic of her people while I want to stop her from doing blood magic.

You'll have to make up the points in others way, but I'm sure it's possible.
