I don't think there's anything demeaning in finding a woman arousing and stimulating yourself while thinking of her.

However, if I did, I'd refrain from doing so when it comes to any woman. It's not okay to demean any woman (or man.)

Merrill thread, how do I go about turning Merrill away from blood magic exactly. i recently did the rival path with her, I didn't romance her this time, so I figured that would stop her from using it, but I never heard her say anything about her giving up on blood magic. I plan to do a "canon" play through romancing her eventually and would like to know exactly what I need to say or do to make her give it up.

I'm sure you guys could help me.

If you denied her the Arulin'Holm, she should have smashed the mirror after her act 3 quest. This shows that she's abandoned the mirror, effectively abandoning blood magic as well.

As others have said, if you rivalry path her, she'll give up the blood magic.

I assume they don't have her talk about it as you could still be using her blood magic talent.

IMO, Merrill definitely needs some tough love so I think that's the route I'll go whenever I get around to my canon game. I'm assuming her scene is still as sweet as the friendship path.She doesn't hate you for disagreeing with her right? In the end anyways.

Alright, read all that, and watched a small piece of the rivalrymance on youtube. IMO it looks like the best course of action. Thanks for your help guys. They could have made that point about her quitting blood magic a little more obvious, but that's clearly what she intended.

Oh, Maria and I have had this exact discussion before. You shouldn't be surprised.

I do disagree, though, and I find that it is demeaning, and that it is acceptable to demean those who, by their own conduct, demean themselves.

I've heard that if the clan is killed, then she breaks the mirror, even on the friendship path. I haven't gotten that far with her on a non-bugged game, so I'm not sure. But that could be why it disappears?

Merrill is not quite as innocent as many think.

In act 3, when you find DeLance's son in the Hanged Man as a femHawke, he tries flirting, but Merrill interrupts by saying his tongue's not raspy enough to satisfy Hawke(or something along that line).

Mahariel was no more then a random Dalish elf in my DAO whos curiosity led to his/her death.
