This is clearly discriminatory. The League of Equal Heights will not let this stand.Gill Kaiser wrote...

It's not a good idea to have equal amount at all.
where is the originality?

Yes, can we drop it? I'm not offended, he's well within his right to be as nitpicky as he wants-- I just wasn't expecting it. Professionally I hear more scathing criticism of my art on a line-by-line basis. Relaxxxxx.

That is Merrill, short dark hair and elven ears, yeah that is her.
Actually when I first say the man on the bottom I thought "Edgar from Final Fantasy 6?"
Really? Frankly he reminds me more of Setzer..

I dunno, he does have the whole noble pony tail feeling to him

This is a party based game. Receiving valid party building options is required. I understand your objection from a lore standpoint, but from a gameplay standpoint, some rules have to be bent to accomodate better gameplay.Thicos wrote...

Otherwise, we'd end with a case like Origins, were the main gameplay difference between Oghren and Sten is that Sten lacks one specialization but will arguably have a better character build as it is given to the player earlier, effectively covering the same niche and being redundant. However, with DA:2 configuration, we have two different options, plus the twins as a third mage/warrior option, plus the DLC character as a third rogue option, allowing for maximum party configuration flexibility.

I could be mistaken here, and it may have already been pointed out, but, Anders *isn't* in the game, he's very exsistence is based on a NPC in a preview image that looked a *little* like Anders. So, would the order, based on announced characters be:
Isabela
Varric
Merril
The Prince
Aveline
Fenris

You can edit your own post, you know.
In any case, there's Sebastian, and possibly more DLC companions. As for originality--why is it that each gender has an equal amount of love interests? For balance and equality, that's why. Some people were supremely annoyed that there were five warriors (or three, if Dog and Shale don't count) in your party.

Didn't a dev say somewhere that there would be "at least" two party members of each class? Maybe I'm reading too much into things, or maybe I'm remembering incorrectly to begin with, but "at least" suggests to me that there will be more than six party members, even if some are temporary. I wonder if those book images are supposed to show Hawke's companions at a particular point in the story?
All speculation at this point, but those images may be the core long-term companions for DAII. Bioware does like to add characters through DLC; we know Sebastian is a third rogue.

Right, good point. I didn't know there were two other rogues confirmed, but that makes sense.

If by the prince you mean "Sebastian", I disagree. His nature as a DLC character means he must be kept apart from main storyline cutscenes, as players may not even know of his existance.glenboy24 wrote...

That's definitely not Sebastian. Well, maybe I shouldn't say "definitely", but very likely not to be. Think about it this way: if you don't buy the DLC, you only have one mage and five companions. If you do, you have three rogues and one mage, and six companions. There are at least two of each class--that must be a mage, and Sebastian is not a mage.
In any case, when people say "Anders", in quotation marks, they are saying it's the mage guy in that one screenshot that looks like him, and is possibly Anders. I also don't believe the devs have said he's definitely not in the game.

The Prince is an additional character, while he is an announced character, is a DLC content, so he's not (probably) the one in the book.

Vael being the mystery companion doesnt make much sense.. First off Vaels hair is pushed back and brown.
Also Vael is a DLC companion.. I dont think he would in that book...

Though personally I like the changes to the elves, it gives them a more unique appearance.
People who are saying she looks a little young, well I can tell you that alot of the women at my university looks like they are in early teens, though it funny at times when especially friend of mine is buying cigarrettes and she is asked for ID.
I would like her to be a LI because judging from what the people that created her are saying she going to be a interesting as well as relationship issues since she a Dalish Keeper in training.

Prince Sensitive would no way be in that book. Let's say that he was, though. That would be extremely stupid, and a legit reason to go "EA IS PUSHING DLC ON US".
Exactly.. Trolls would have field day with this..
