One thing I dont quite understand about the eluvian: was the demon going to use it to get to the psysical world without a host or was he planning to possess Merrill? cuz if he wasnt going to possess merrill then the keeper´s actions make no sense. The possibility of recovering those ancient powers and maybe the lost immortality seems worth the risk, also it´s just one demon and they are an entire clan, no way he could have dealt serious damage... Marethari suspects that Audacity will trick Merrill to make an Eluvian that will allow it to escape into the real world, but there's no actual evidence that this is what Audacity planned besides what Marethari claims. In fact, some suspect this was Audacity's plan all along - making the Keeper think that Merrill was walking into Audacity's "trap," so that Marethari would release the trapped demon and become an abomination to "protect Merrill."
