I also find it amusing that so many people consider themselves experts on everything from how to illustrate, to how to market a game, to how to write it, to what constitutes an appealing LI. 

Dislike something? Express it. Just don't pit one subjective opinion against someone else's and expect that yours has some inherent merit that makes it difficult to refute.  

Merrill will have people who like her either because they like the way she looks, or because two writers have shown so much enthusiasm for her, and they trust those writers, or maybe they just like elves. You don't like her. Those two are opinions that can perfectly and peacefully coexist when little is known about the character.

And you can feel free pick any one of the forumites that does all the exact same things with a possitive reaction rather than a negative one and repeat all of the above to that person as well. They should feel free to gush and squee  based on zero actual information repeatedly until release as well, right? Nonsense is nonsense and subjective is subjective after all.

The point of that being that singling me out is bogus. Everyone here is equally steeped in baseless speculation. Everyone. I'm only getting the short end because I've been repeating how I'm not happy with things instead of repeating blind addoration.

No this is where there is a difference.  You seem to think your opinion is of more importance than anyone else on the forum.  You keep stating it over and over and frankly I'd say people on the forums care about your grief about as much as they care for the next persons adoration or grief, that being very little in the grand scheme of things.

You hate the possible romances in this game, fine, point made.  No one cares any more or less than the next person.

We're not allowed to make "I don't like" threads. They lock them and send us to these threads. I started my own thread about being dissatisfied with the romances and it was locked yesterday dispite having no bickering or arguing at all.
