Anders probably could've picked a better time to starting questioning Merrill's relationship than when she was helping him wade through a sewer looking for magical poo.

It gets even worst if ur on rivalry romance with Anders.

Basically, Justice takes over him without his approval or knowledge at times, and he goes, "Wait...what happened? Did I say something".

In the end, it was Justice who takes over Anders and blows up the chantry.

You know, if they were going to copy the dialog system from ME, they should have also copied the Interrupt system. There are a lot of conversations in the game that could be ended early by a Shepard Hawke Punch. Heck make it so if you have certain members in your party it can be triggered for them (ie Varric killing Gascard).
How great would it be to see Merrill (or Fenris) **** slap Anders on his poop quest?

That said I found Hawke's actual response weaker than Merrill's. Glad I always bring her along for that quest.

The sad thing about the manure quest is that the moment Merrill scolded Anders, it was immediately battle music and our characters going into battle stance. For a wild moment, I thought Merrill and I could duke it out with Anders once and for all...sadly, that didn't happen.

An interrupt option where the champion-gauntlet armoured fist greets Anders' face in person would be so satisfying.
Or at the very least a more serious demonstraion of where Hawke's loyalty lies rather than the half-hearted defence he/she gives in that dialog.

I am not usually violent towards party-members but Anders really made my blood boil with his comments to and about Merrill more than once.

I like how Merrill owns Anders in almost every conversation that doesn´t involve kittens, like "your "Maker" is a story you humans use to explain the world. we have our own stories. I don't need to borrow yours." I would have just laughed in Anders´s face if he mentioned the Maker, but merrill is too classy for that

And Merrill never *gets* pwn'd in banter. Even in the one with Anders, where she's all "You're scaring me," and he's all "That's the point," Anders just comes across as a bully.

I guess it's nice to be adorable.

Is there a point in the game where I have to start romancing Merrill to keep that option alive? I'm in act 3 now and just finished Isabelas personal quest by killing Castillon. When i visit her after that she confesses her feelings and i can decide if Hawke feels the same way.
The problem is Merrill always was my preferred romance-target (although i had sex with Isabela), but i didn't really reach anything with her so far. I sided with her most of the time and flirted a bit during act 2, but she never appeared at my house and my friend-rating isn't too high, somewhere around 25-40 i think. Is it still possible to start a romance with her or is it too late now?

Any romance must be initiated during the events of Act 2.
