if bethany would be ok with hawke and merrill how would carver react to it, and what to he say to merrill?

I'm sure he'd moan, whine, and complain about how Hawke had it better than he did.

Merrill would compliment him, tell him that he'll find someone, and otherwise try to make him feel better.

Carver had such a crush on Merrill. He 'd go all emo as always.

The same way he responds to just about everything Hawke does: with a whole lot of jealousy and complaining. "Great, another mage", he'd whine. "Just what this family needed. Screw you lot, I'm joining the templars just to spite you".

At which point Hawke would snap, turn him into a toad, and skip off into the sunset to live happily ever after. Ribbit.

Really? I got the impression that Carver was sniffing around and then just weirded out by Merrill. She may have had a slight crush on him depending on how you interpret their banter but I don't get the impression it would go anywhere. Bethany and Anders I can see going somewhere.

Maybe Isabella and Merrill, but that may just be a fantasy of mine that plays in my head.

I think Merrill is probably the person Isabela is least interested in sleeping with. She very much seems to see Merrill as her little sister.

He did seem rather fond of her for some reason.

I see Bethany and Isabela, Carver and Isabela... Carver and Merrill is no. Isabela and Merrill is no. Merrill and pretty much anyone is no. I just can't see her with anyone but Hawke.

I saw a microfic of Bethany and Merrill once. It made enough sense to me.

Carver and Isabela wouldn't be bad either - maybe Carver would finally man the **** up a little and stop whining all the time. And run off to sea to become a dread pirate, captain of the Seahawke...or something.

I can see that. But I'd still think he'd get snarly when Hawke/Merrill happened.

Bethany and Anders I can see going somewhere.

They might date for a while until Justice gets too ornery. Bethany is the most practical, level-headed mage we see in the game. I don't see 'he's charming and passionate!' overruling 'he's an abomination who is deliberately riling up the templars.'

Maybe Isabella and Merrill, but that may just be a fantasy of mine that plays in my head.

Fantasy. I can see Merrill falling for Isabela. I can see Isabela deciding to depart for a year if that happens. Merrill is just too obvious in her love and devotion; it would freak Izzy out.

I can't really see Isabela staying with Carver. She'd have a fling with him, sure, but I doubt she'd ever really seriously consider him for anything longer term than a roll in the hay.

I think Carver would get snarly if it were Hawke/plank of wood. Carver would likely say he saw the plank of wood first, or complain about planks in general. I like GW Carver enough but having Carver around in Act 1 was mostly painful, except for maybe a quest or two where he actually has something insightful to say.

Bethany and Anders I can see going somewhere.

Well yeah. But honestly, if they could be together, and if neither were taken to the Deep Roads do you think Anders would have let Bethany turn herself in? I agree that it wouldn't last but I think it would be a relationship that would change her.

In silly head stories, I always figured GW Bethany ended up with Nathaniel. Why? Because of all the Awakenings characters I like Nathaniel the most (followed by Velanna, but I know I'm in the minority there).

I'm sorry I was day dreaming again :innocent:
Wholeheartedly agree it wouldn't happen beyond anything innocent. I do love the way Isabella reacts to Hawke/Merrill, both as the happy friend or the friend willing to step aside and let Merrill be happy.

Thanks to the Velanna "At Love Bug" my Cousland tapped that at Vigil's Keep. What Anora and Morrigan don't know can't make them kill him.

Nah, did you see his reaction when he learend Bethany was Hawke's sister? He was totally thinking, "****, how do I keep it a secret that I'm delving his/her sister's Deep Roads."

Merrill: Varric... this one doesn't have your name on it.
Varric: Ah, yes. I've decided to expand my publishing horizons and give up and coming authors a chance to ride my coat tails.
Merrill: But - won't your coat get dirty?
Varric: Daisy, not literally.
Merrill: Oh, well - oh my this one by - "Captain Isabela of The Siren's Call II".
Varric: I see you picked up "The Antiva Milk Sandwich and You", thats a big seller, that one.
Merrill: Its even illustrated!
Varric: Isabela is alot of things, but I never considered her to be the artistic type.
Merrill: Thats - this... uhh - its hot in here isn't it.
Varric: You can keep that one for uhh Hawke.
