Really? I got the impression that Carver was sniffing around and then just weirded out by Merrill.
I can see that. But I'd still think he'd get snarly when Hawke/Merrill happened.
I think Carver would get snarly if it were Hawke/plank of wood. Carver would likely say he saw the plank of wood first, or complain about planks in general. I like GW Carver enough but having Carver around in Act 1 was mostly painful, except for maybe a quest or two where he actually has something insightful to say.
Bethany and Anders I can see going somewhere.
They might date for a while until Justice gets too ornery. Bethany is the most practical, level-headed mage we see in the game. I don't see 'he's charming and passionate!' overruling 'he's an abomination who is deliberately riling up the templars.'
Well yeah. But honestly, if they could be together, and if neither were taken to the Deep Roads do you think Anders would have let Bethany turn herself in? I agree that it wouldn't last but I think it would be a relationship that would change her.
In silly head stories, I always figured GW Bethany ended up with Nathaniel. Why? Because of all the Awakenings characters I like Nathaniel the most (followed by Velanna, but I know I'm in the minority there).
Maybe Isabella and Merrill, but that may just be a fantasy of mine that plays in my head.
Fantasy. I can see Merrill falling for Isabela. I can see Isabela deciding to depart for a year if that happens. Merrill is just too obvious in her love and devotion; it would freak Izzy out.
I'm sorry I was day dreaming again :innocent:
Wholeheartedly agree it wouldn't happen beyond anything innocent. I do love the way Isabella reacts to Hawke/Merrill, both as the happy friend or the friend willing to step aside and let Merrill be happy.
