The mind boggles at what exactly is going on off-screen that would cause such an expression.

I think it's from the unexpected ear kiss.

That or she just realized that she forgot to put her scarf on.

She doesn't like her neck nuzzled and realizes it's now vulnerable?

Now I wonder if elven ears are more sensitive to touch...

Actually, I came here to post some fanart too :P I found this on deviantArt while I was looking for a specific image and thought it was cute:

Now I have the idea of Merrill randomly braiding Hawke's hair as she sleeps beside her.

It does have to be the evolved version of 'neck nuzzle' b/c the vanilla power just doesn't cut it.

HEY!

Nog, Quark, and Rom were one of the few good things on DS9.

Elven everythings are cuter.

Deep Space Nice was a good show, but nine times out of ten, they only had the Ferengi as a joke. It's hard for me to take a science fiction show seriously when they typecast an entire intelligent species as 'greedy buffoons.'

The sad thing is that Armin Shimerman really was a versatile actor.

Did you know he did the voice of Andrew Ryan for BioShock?

Well, every universe has some "greedy buffoon" species.

[EDIT] "every" = hyperbole

Nope, don't like it, there is a strange man molesting her to the right.

Where's her girlfriend, Hawke?

In an alternate universe of course.

Oh rite! *Turns around to turn on the "alternate universe"*
True, there she is!

I disagree. Most sci-fi and fantasy lacks that. Now, if you'd had said 'honorable warrior' race...

So having played my blood mage file a bit farther on I cant help but laugh at how counter-cultural the whole thing is.

A) Its a noble living in with an elf.
B) They are both MAGES
C) THEY ARE BOTH BLOOD MAGES.

Now that is just funny as hell for me.
Shame that its adding more magic to the Hawke line really,

That's a good thing.

I love playing mage Hawke, as it makes sense given that both family bloodlines are strong with magic.  Plus, I like setting things on fire.  Plus, I love counter-culture stuffs.

If Merrill did have Hawke's kid then it most likely would be a mage really.

I'll admit, I might be projecting :P And when I thought about it, I was hard-pressed to come up with specifics. But it's at least a "thing that comes to mind." I can't think of the word. Gestalt? Anyway, it's a very familiar stereotype.

That would make sense, IMO...given that magic ability seems to be genetic.

Warrior Lady Hawke: You what now?
Merrill: A wizard did it. :wizard:
WLH: Stay here. I'm going to congratulate Anders. And then tear him to bloody ribbons.

I'm not sure why a mage couldn't just make a baby...combining genetic material from two females.

They do a bunch of other crazy stuff

I'm tempted to explain the joke. Still, my second-favorite pairing in DA2 is Anders + Murder Knife.

Though given Merrill's frequent violation of her internal organs, he's probably responsible for her still having a functioning womb.

My only regret is that they saved the run-them-through-with-a-sword-then-scrape-off-the-body-with-a-boot animation for Meredith and Bethany. Sorry Anders.
