So, since BW is ready to reveal a few things on the Legacy DLC now (like in the presentation yesterday), I talked to Fernando Melo and asked him whether we could expect some cool new dialogues from our companions (especially Merrill ^^).

He just confirmed it, here you go:

Fernando Melo wrote...
All of the followers have brand new lines, and the new party banter is as good or better in some cases (in my opinion) than the main game - same writers, same VO talent, etc. In particular with the Family/Carta/Wardens connection, there are also unique scenes with followers like the siblings, Varric and Anders. Also, depending on which point in the game you begin there are also scenes with Mother.

I rather like this :D

That's awesome!  Thanks for the info.

I'll have to halt my current pt in Act 2 to get the mom dialog XD

Fernando Melo wrote...

Yes. I won't spoil it with the how, but as I mentioned above as long as they exist in your party selection screen (whether selectable or not in main game due to their duties) you will have access to them for the DLC.

This is awesome too...I was hoping they would be available in Act 2.

This made my day. Now, I need to go to a place where it is safe to swoon.

Yes.

I'm so giddy right now! New banter! New dialogue! New scenes! I've said it before, and I'll say it again: TAKE MY MONEY, BIOWARE! Posted Image

Although, I'll sadly have to leave Merrill out from my first playtrough of Legacy since Bethany will be back and Varric and Isabela are the mainstays of my party. Why are there only 3 slots?! Posted Image

With LotSB bringing moar Liara (Femshep loves you baby) but no squaddie dialogue, it was great but I'm glad they waited longer before putting out Legacy... Isabela and Merrill good times is most welcome! I wonder if they got Sebastian in there too? I love having him stuck with Izzy and Daisy.

It seems he will have dialog too.

I love Seb/Merrill dialog, btw :wizard:

My fave:

Merrill: Does your bow have a name? Varric's bow has a name.

Sebastian: I'm afraid I can't compete with our dear dwarf's... relationship to his weapon.

Merrill: You could call it Philomela!

Sebastian: Why would I do that?

Merrill: Because it reminds me of a woman in the alienage. Skinny, pointed, and always throwing things at people.

I'd gladly take Sebastian with me for some dlc spelunking, provided I can pull a Bartrand and seal him in some room somewhere.

@Jib: I love the "Hortensia" Divine naming conversation. It shows them getting along and I like when the companions go above and beyond simply begrudged toleration. I'm lookin' at you Fenris and Anders.

@Bleet: But... but... dat voice. Like butter

I prefer dat voices that don't try and enlist help in turning the apostate companions over the Templars.

Better men than you have tried, Princey.

I've always like Sebastian...he was a total bro to my Lady Hawke and she trusted him. Though, it doesn't end well (yeah, she spares Anders O_o).

Yeah, that's great too...I think all Merrill/Seb dialog is pretty great.  My fave is Merrill/Anders though.

Sebastian: It's our duty to tell the templars.
Fenris:
Then why haven't you done it?
Sebastian: I guess I was hoping they'd come to it on their own.
Fenris: And then you wouldn't have to betray Hawke's friends, right?
Sebastian: That's not reason enough to allow a maleficar to walk free.
Merrill: Are you talking about me?
Sebastian: Which of us should do it? Shall we draw lots?
Fenris: Uh-uh. You want to turn them in, you work it out with Hawke.

Yes, yes he does.

[edit] - Oh hey, there we go. It has Anders rather than Merrill, but you get the idea.

Oh noes...you are ruining Sebastian for me.

Honestly, I've never used that party combo.

*It's also extra funny considering my Hawke is a 'maleficarum'.*

Sorry :(

And it's fine, Hawke is a secret maleficarium.

Oh I remember that convo, see thats why I don't let Fenris, Anders, and Sebastian mingle anymore. I once spent an awkward 3 hours on the Wounded Coast and The Bone Pit pulling off quests and missions.

I thought you meant a cut scene or something.

Templars: Now where are those maleficars?
Merrill: Hullo! *wave*
Sebastian: The ones with the staves... are you blind? Thats right, they're right there behind the surprised - now angry woman with the flaming two-handed sword.

Hahaha, yeah....I've always found it funny that neither Fenris nor Anders cares one bit that my Hawke uses blood magic (and Anders didn't care that my Warden used it).

But Merrill...ZOMG YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING YOU ARE SO MISGUIDED!

*continuing my Merrill blood mage thing*

I always felt that Merrill represented the 'good' blood mage within the DA2 narrative (vs. all the other crazies). She turned to blood magic for practical reasons that involved fixing the eluvian and not b/c she just desired more power.

I think she handled blood magic well in those 7 years in Kirkwall considering:

1) She never unleashed demons on the Alienage.
2) She never turned the inhabitants of the Alienage into her own personal sex slave army.
3) No blood sacrifices of elven children.
4) She never wrote in blood on the Vhenadahl tree, "Merrill was here. Merrill <3 Hawke forever."
