All the companions + Bethany/Carver are confirmed as having new lines in MotA. Bringing Merrill along should be a blast. Can you imagine the stuff she'd pull off on a noble gathering? The Orlesians are in for a culture shock.

Good, I'm not alone. Being completely honest, those are all concepts I commonly find on here. In fact, there was a new Isabela x Merrill thread made a few days ago. First time I've felt a migraine in over two years.

Well, if Hawke goes with someone else, I'd like to see Merrill receive some love...

Same, but I'm not sure if Isabela would try and romance Merrill. She seems to regard her more as a younger sister, than a potential lover.

Well, at least he isn't a douche, he could probably get over the blood magic bit too... I suppose if Hawke got eaten by Flemeth and Alistair decided to visit Sundermount on a kingly stroll, this would be acceptable

I prefer to ignore any universe in which Hawke and Merrill are not together.

Seriously, Merrill is the only LI in any Bioware game where I was immediately smitten. I love Leliana, I love Ash and Tali, but I didn't get there without talking to them and getting to know the character. The second Merrill spoke, I was in love with her.

The accent helps. I'm a sucker for the accent.

Some aspects of Merrill have soaked up enough of her that the awesomeness leeches out immediately, making getting to know her just more icing. These include The Accent, The Scarf and The Rambling.

Absolutely. All the companions have new lines (most particularly banter and interjections) in Mark of the Assassin.

Considering there was a banner with the same Dalish heraldry as her clan, does she get some significant moments?

For clarification, I mean how bringing Varric, Anders, and the sibling has certain stuff than just bringing the other companions.

Same. Hell, if they'd keep Hawke&Co for a change, I think most people would be happy... Wouldn't be near as complicated with the much less copious customizations.

I actually agree with this.  Though, he'd have to get over the blood mage thing.  But he's a nice guy and both are goofy in an endearing way and would make a good couple (IMO).  

Or Isabela because they have a great relationship going on in game already.  I can't say I like any non-Hawke Merrill pairings beyond them.

However, I have some fanart done for a birthday present (thanks to rynluna ) and I prefer my Hawke and Merrill, of course

I prefer the Hawke-vanishing, too... Seems like it'd be pretty awkward to be the "Keeper's human lover" for the rest of your life. And a bit of an anti-climatic ending, although I suppose he has to lay down the staffsword some day. Merrill... *May* not have the best experiences to encourage her to be a full-fledged Keeper anymore, either. Y'know, what with the mass-hate and potential attempted murder from the last clan she was apprentice Keeper to (Really, when they attack, considering Marethari is dead, Merrill's become their Keeper. Way to go dickwads).

I'm under the impression that Hawke will just vanish and leave the LI behind (like the Warden).

My Wardens all romance Leliana and obviously they are separated and Leliana is looking for her.

I'd wish that Merrill would move on in this situation and do her own thing (kind of like what Leliana does) but also be on the lookout for Hawke (also kind of like what Leliana does with the Warden).

I think maybe Merrill might do a semi-Morrigan. She may try to leave Hawke for fear of him getting hurt and Hawke can track her down, and a Hawke that romanced her can go with her.
