I'm well aware of how the temptations work thanks for the presumption Xili.

That was to Abispa.

Last i checked people were well aware dreams weren't real. Just temporary.

Perhaps, but he was still rather resistant to leaving. I think he'd do something along the lines of "just five more minutes" for eternity.

Morrigan was trained by Flemeth. You really think she won't see through a demon's lies?

Not in a dreamer-derived Fade realm.

which makes them idiots and deserving of their deaths since they didn't have enough brainpower to realize Hawke could defeat both the ensnared teammate and them.

Admittedly.

Not really. I can think of a few things a desire/pride demon could offer, given enough power.

He wasn't resistant to me. Just sad.

Right. We're not gonna agree on this.

And yeah don't see Morrigan falling for any demon's BS. She knows what the end result is (as does Hawke and the Warden) for some reason the companions lack this knowledge or refuse to acknowledge it.

It's a sad sad day when Hawke's the only one using his head.

And that sloth demon is a liar. Magic beyond my wildest dreams my foot.

Just drawing a conclusion from a chat between Anders and Merrill. He suggests that it is possible for a mage to accidentally cut herself, draw the attention of demons and realize the power of blood magic even is she weren't a blood mage. Granted, I am not a scholar of all the nuances of blood magic in DA, but it seems to me that if even an innocent cut on a mage can trigger a blood magic event, then Merrill conducting some kind of magical repairs on a powerful artifact with a tool she can cut herself with could be even more dangerous.

I could be wrong, I admit, but I'd never accuse anyone of being an imbecile for disagreeing with me.

I wouldn't trust Anders as he's never used blood magic.

I highly doubt that all there is to blood magic is blood itself...I imagine the mage needs to focus the energy to actually do something with it (similar to normal magic).  If that weren't the case, there would be blood magic happening almost anytime a non-blood magic mage was cut.

That hardly means she will never fall for one.  Besides, Morrigan isn't above using blood magic.

Furthermore, Morrigan still goes along with the ritual Flemeth gave to her.  Flemeth!  This is after she learned Flemeth wants to go all bodysnatcher on her.

Morrigan isn't above taking risks when it comes to magic...she's just gotten lucky so far.

Wow! That sounds like an awesome plot for a game! Maybe Bioware could make it and call it DRAGON AGE 2!

Okay, before I get hate posts, I DID like the game.

Bloodmagic doesn't have to be taught from a demon and bloodmagic doesn't have a mind of its own.

That's only if you believe her about the body snatching bit. Given what Flemeth says the whole "wait...that's what she told you? LOL"  I'm betting that whole "she'll steal my body!" was BS of the higgest order. That and the toolset notes.

Morrigan tells the Warden she's a good liar.

@ Ryzaki -- Hey! Wouldn't it be GREAT if you could rival romance Morrigan, DA2 style? By the end of the game she could be standing beside the Warden in a wedding dress, in a Chantry, with everyone singing the Chant!

*Sniffle.*

So beautiful...

Oh maker no. That's...that's just plain disturbing.  I see her rivalrymance as being more like Fenris' with her being slightly less ****y all the time but still not really liking anyone but the Warden. And still leaving. But she'd probably be a bit more willing in witchhunt to let the warden come with her or tell the warden more about flemeth.

You just mentioned Morrigan in both groups. Is she simultaneously falling under a demon's sway while also managing to resist it?

"Can I not be in two places at once! [Laugh] Bodies can be such limited things, don't you think?"

Maybe she's a chip off the old block.

Flemeth is hands down the most awesome character in the DA series as far as I'm concerned.

So awesome.

Workable if it was also bisexual.

She could stand to be a tad less vague.

Uh...she doesn't need to be bisexaul. A female friendship works just as well.

Her vagueness is what makes her great though.

Even so, she's still doing Flemeth's ritual.  Unless you think Flemeth is fully trustworthy?

Flemeth seems to be a bit of a diviner, too. She made several comments about Hawke's group that varied depending who was with her, including a warning to Merrill. How did the rest of you take her advice to Merrill, and did it effect how you interacted with her during the game? I know it made me wary of her and her judgment.

If you're going to update it to DA2, update it all the way. Freedom of choice is a good thing.

Not with Morrigan. She seems to have been explicitly written to be straight.

Probably the same source she learned everything else from. Flemeth. There's no reason to think otherwise given the fact she tells the Warden Flemeth taught her the ritual.

Heck no. I'm sure they're both power obsessed and crazy. I however doubt Flemeth cared about hurting Morrigan.

"Is she your daughter or your enemy?"

"Neither is she."

I don't really think she gives a damn about what Morrigan does as long as it doesn't interfere in her plots. It looks more like she finds it amusing.

Only through the contrived means of being unable to flirt with her as a woman.

This is why I think Morrigan isn't all that different from Merrill.  The both are learning things from questionable sources.  I just hate the whole 'Merrill is stoopid and Morrigan is soo smart!' attitude that I see around the good ole forums (I mean genrally...I'm not saying from you specifically).  I think they both realize that the magic they are doing could be dangerous but think the risk is worth it.

Whether Morrigan will always be "straight" is up to the writers. One could make the case that she just needed the male Warden's seed for a baby. She had to seduce the male Hero, or in the case of a female Hero, she didn't want the complications of upsetting a female lover with her needing to be impregnated by Alistair. So she COULD be "gay" or "bi" in a future game. I could never picture Loghain going along with the Dark Ritual, so he just died.
