In west Ferelden, born and raised,
in the forests is where I spent most of my days...
Chillin out, maxin, ralaxin, all cool,
and all shootin sum Halla outside of the training,
when a couple of shems, who were u to no good,
started making trouble in my Clan's hood.
I got in one little fight and my Keeper got scared and said
"You're moving with this guy named Hawke to Kirkwall"
I whistled for the dude and when he came near,
He had a beard on his face and was Nutella smeared.
If anything, I could say that this shem was rare,
but I thought, could be worse, "Yo holmes, to Kirkwall!"
I pulled up to the city, rebellion a stirring,
and I yelled to Hawke, "Go home, I'll see you later!"
Looked around the place, I was finally there,
to take up my staff, now I'm the Keeper of Kirkwall

Flawless victory.

In my opinion Tali wasn't cute in Mass effectat all. I mean how can I call cute something that's in a suit and under a helmet with a visor that I can't even see through, and also has legs for a chicken? Honestly Garrus was more cute than she was.

Young, innocent and admires the hell out of you. Not so much a physical thing as a personality thing. In my opinion, "cute" is more of a personality thing that not. "Cute" isn't necessarily physical attraction in my book, it's more of a total package thing. My usual example I use calling on Victoria Secret models - Miranda Kerr is "cute" while Adriana Lima, for example is not. Both are ungodly physically attractive, but it's a demeanor thing too, not just looks necessarily.

The sensation of cute seems to come as much from behavior as from appearance.

Have another Merrill. *toss at Isabela* This time it's Angry Kitten Merrill!
I made up the shoes and the rest of the gloves, before anyone asks whether I've found concept art or more screenshots.

"Okay, you can keep it! But this time remember to feed it and don't let it toss fireballs at the lawn."

The omm-nom-nom totally sells this.

Yes that I know, but if a person doesn't "look" cute, then he simply isn't. that adds in too, though I agree that behavior, personality is also involved.

I have a talent suggestion to the devs..... they should add a "Cute Smite" talent to her special tree where she just bats her eyelashes and everyone within 10 meters gets stunned.... that'd be very useful you know :P

I wonder if for some just one of the qualities could stand by itself and still be cute.

It was the accent and the innocence that drew people to her. After all, she was the 'Exotic Innocent 'Hot Geeky Little Sister' Virgin' of the Maleshep LIs.

I really, really, reeeeeeaaallllly would prefer she not be a Tali 2.0. As much as I do like Tali's character --my issues with her romance content aside-- I find it almost impossible to view her as a woman. She never seems to graduate from the "girl" status, in my eyes.

If a character's appeal --expecially a female character-- is solely based on a level of "cuteness", I consider that as vanilla as it comes --if I'm using the term vanilla correctly-- and therefor; far less interesting.

I certainly haven't written off Merrill's character as a Tali 2.0, but it's a direction I really hope Bioware don't take.

That sounds like what we're getting- the adorably adorable talk from the writers, that puts her in Leliana-Tali territory by the sounds.  A pet halla can't be far behind.  Posted Image

Unlike others who say they're just playing through the origin, Dalish is my favorite, only diminished by the fact that you can't play a mage except with the mod.   Still and all I did wish that they were darker, fiercer and not quite as whimsical.  The small glimpse we get of them in TST suggested something grittier.  Then Velanna being such a b*tchy shrew of a Dalish stereotype, and Ariane better but verging on high school chearleeder quality, I was really hoping for a Dalish character who was more Morrigan or Fiona.

It's quite possible I've been writing in my own "Dalish" and the real reality is less interesting than I thought it was.

Tali got all those fans because she was unromanceable in ME1 (forbidden fruit) and because she has no face. If she had had a different personality, she would have simply attracted different people.
Personally, I was never interested in her character. I don't dislike her, but I do find her bland at times.

Still, if Merrill fans become half as creepy as the Tali horde, I'm leaving the forum.

As others have said, it's her personality that puts her more in the cute range, and her voice.  Obviously it's a big draw for a lot of people (gag!).  Also don't underestimate the power of not being able to see what's under the mask.  That's the cliche of the veiled woman.

I think there's some conflation between cute and pretty here. Something ugly can still be cute.

Cuteness is related to 'childness,' not attractiveness. Tali and Liara in ME 1 are cute because they both have this sort of fresh-faced awkwardness about them. Both of them lose a great deal of that in ME 2, though I think Tali still has cute moments.

For a moment I thought the pic was of Merrill munching on fem-Hawke`s nipple. Romance scene and all.

So judging from the opinions on this forum, this picture would be the ultimate embodiment of Merril:  a kitten wearing Kanye West glasses and a gold chain.  Possibly with a grill.  Someone Photoshop this, immediately!

d'aaaaaaawwwww.

Also I love where this thread has gone, we've somehow taken a small character from the first game and made her into ultra-cute, a hipster, a kitten, a gangsta, and Will Smith.

Just for comparison by page 65:
The Varric thread had its first gay Varric romance fanart,
the Isabela thread was discussing how to beat her at her card game in DA:O and the current state of her ship,
conversations over Fenris-Zevran relations were occuring in the Fenris thread,
and the Aveline thread has not reached 65 pages yet.

We need for fanart to compete.

Dragon Age 2 plushie companions full set  Varric would be awsome:P Thanks. It's from an anime that I used to watch when I was a kid ... I can't even remember what it was called now.
