Haha, Sebastian's skintone in that design! Funnily enough he does have one of the middle tones in the actual game, but between the lighting, his insane technicolor eyes, and the fact that "pale to dark-skinned" in DA covers roughly "pale to less pale" in real life it's near-impossible to tell.

EDIT: Also, is it just me, or does the skin tone of the hero keep getting lighter and lighter throughout the game when you choose one of the darker skin tones? I noticed this in ME2 as well.

I actually really like that Merrill look. Especially with her current personality. The whole point of her is contrast, right? The perky, friendly, wouldn't-step-on-a-cockroach blood mage?

(Also, shoes. I am a staunch advocate of shoes in combat. As infinitely amusing as all her lack-of-shoes banters are.)

It's a comic book, sci-fi, and fantasy staple: If the heroine isn't going to wear high heels or thigh high boots, she's better of not wearing shoes at all.

Be thankful she isn't barefoot AND pregnant. Yet. I not sure that won't be an option in the expansion.

Edit:  though a fair amount of companions don't have a source of income so I now wonder how they purchase food and the like?

She's actually the richest person in Kirkwall now (due to so many people stuck on a scripting path that keeps crossing the yarn) but zoning laws prohibit eleves from living anywhere but the alienage.

I'd hope Hawke doesn't hog all the loot. It's bad enough that they live it up a nice mansion while the people who helped them get stuck in the slums.

I don't know what you mean. Merrill comes to live with Hawke, and Isabela and Varric prefer Lowtown. Everyone else noteworthy lives in Hightown already.
