Hope we will get a page on Merril soon for characters in the DA:2 main page. I would love to find out what drives her, and what makes her leave her clan. Haven't read the german article because my german isn't that good =)

You know I'd settle for the quote they put in the character page, somehow I find that the quotes tell much more about the characters than their description.

Okay I'm serious people, look at this pic from the IGN preview...in the other screenshots Merrill doesn't appear but I'm almost sure she's the one talking to Fem Hawke:



She's confirming that she's used blood magic!!!!! ** if ** Merrill is the one really talking then that's confirms she has blood magic like PCGamer said, also it seems like she summoned a demon (spirit) to help in the fight... who bets it's a desire demon?

I am genuinely curious about this. More than PC romances, I have always been fascinated by the prospect of playing matchmaker between companions. I wonder if that possibility exists in DA2.

I'd love to be able to do that.

I bet Carver and Merril will both be irritated when FemHawke bursts into excited giggles every time they merely speak to each other.

It does seem like she is a blood mage .. cute girl with a dark edge  Carver x Merrill is fine ... if it's optional. Hawke needs to get some Merrill as well

Damn if summoning demons is part of the Blood Mage spec I'm gonna play mage in my first playthrough... unless it's exclusive to Merrill (summoning demons that is)... that'd be awesome!!!!!

Probably the Keeper's magic is linkes with blood magic. I remember that article that talks about Merill that her special tree is based on a mix between Keeper's magic and blood magic.

Maybe not. We only have the Chantry´s view of Blood Magic. While some aspects of it are evil, I don´t think it corrupts by itself ala Dark Side.
I wonder if BM is standard Keeper material. Before this I had thought Zathrian had improvised Witherfang.

Yes it's quite possible the Dalish's view of Blood Magic is diiferent, they may even use it to power all of their spells for all we know.... now I can't wait for the reveal of Merrill :-(

A blood mage that is cute as a kitten? Woah, now that's something I'd like to see. Though I don't know, I mean isn't it painful to be a blood mage? You have to cut yourself right? Or someone else... Hehe, gonna be fun if she's a companion and even more fun if she's a romance!
