Considering we might be going to Orlais, I'm expecting to find elf servants, instead of the Dalish.

I think DA3 is going all over the place and I bet we will run into Dalish somewhere.  I don't think 'the elves' will be a major game focus, though.

I wouldn't mind it if the lead in ME3 is an Elf (if they don't let us choose races again). I would prefer a Dwarf, but that would rule out mages.

I would love an elf as that's what I hope to play as in DA3 (my canon Warden is human and so is Hawke).  

I think they should let you start out as a Circle magi (human or elf) or Templar recruit (human, elf, dwarf).  ...since the next game will apparently cover that as its core conflict.

Which leads me to wonder if Merrill would involve herself in the conflict or stay out of it?  I'm not sure.

IF she shows up at all it will probably just be a cameo, similar to DA2 or ME3 (I assume).  After all, she may not have survived. If she did show up they would have to come up with a situation where she either never did, or no longer, is romantically involved with Hawke, which would anger many players. If we do see her again (meaningfully), it will probably just be in DLCs or any DA2 expansions.

But if Hawke has disappeared unintentionally/unwillingly/was eaten by Flemeth then Merrill could be sans Hawke.  I kind of got the impression that this is what did happen to both Hawke and the Warden.

I think she will probably have a cameo regardless as did some of the DA:O characters (Zevran).  Isabela should definitely be a cameo (and Varric).  

So, maybe you'll have to go to a Dalish camp for some reason and Merrill will be there to aid you with a quest and you can talk to her for a bit if she's alive.   If not, you get to talk to Berrill her long lost cousin.

Faith, Valor, Compassion, Fortitude and Justice are the only "good" spirits I know of.

LMAO. What is she turning into Poison Ivy from Batman?

A Meriill/Justice combo makes me very sad. That would be strike one against DA3 for me. She was in a romance with my Hawke and there's no way my Hawke would allow this. If Merill started to be anything like Anders Hawke would outright kill her. If a Justice Anders nuked the Chantry, what is a Merill one going to pull the Grand Cathedral in Orlais into the earth using blood magic like the Tevinters did with Arlathan?

Justice got messed up enough in Anders how bad would he be in a blood mage? And what is wrong with Justice, after being in Anders wouldn't he, I don't know, have had a friggin' enough of being warped by merging with someone?

If we get an expansion where Hawke disappears through an Eluvian, and a romanced Merrill doesn't go with him, I'll be pretty pissed.

Equally pissed I will be should none of the romances step through the Eluvian with Hawke.

Go with Hawke they all should.

EDIT: And I remember some months ago people were asking that Merrill come back in DA3 as an evil blood mage.

Guess how I reacted to that.

I mean, I don't know if there would be one if there's even a spirit of Chastity. Justice's turning into Vengeance -- which I kinda view as him being both Justice and Vengeance in one being that's also inside Anders -- seems to say that they become an alter ego of what they originally embodied.

Like Faith would become Zealotry.

Not sure what Valor would become.

Though Chastity would probably turn into violent celibacy.

Precisely. That's why I think she'd go through. She'd be curious to find out what's on the other side.

I wonder if Morrigan may meet with Hawke and ask for him to come through. Maybe she and Merrill would have some talks about the Eluvians.

hmmm....

Ferelden? There could be another one there besides the one Morrigan used and the shattered one. Tevinter? I'd expect one to be there.

Perhaps even in Halamshiral, in old ruins that the current Dalish Elves haven't yet found? Perhaps Merrill will use the Scrying ritual to find one.

I doubt Bioware will use the same trick for Hawke that they did for the Warden.

Maybe Merrill and Hawke get frozen for couple decades while trying to stop some missiles.(lame CapAmerica ref)
