Well, yes...especially if Hawke happens to sleep with Isabela first.

They probably laugh at male Hawke.

Yep.

No way Merrill would be that evil.

She's a blood mage.

Interesting question as to what alignment Merrill would be (yes, I know D&D alignments can be limiting, but this is just a mental exercise). I'm thinking CN or CG, though.

i'd say chaotic good and too trusting. also what type of Dialogue would Merrill have with Leliana if she were a companion in DA:O?

I believe the conclusion the last time this came up was the best kind of dialogue.

Which, obviously, I'd be ok with.

Blood magic seems loosely based on witch craft practiced in pre-Roman times, but such witchcraft considered several other bodily fluids useful in sorcery. Not sure how much the DA writers want to explore that, though.

Spit mages?

I'm assuming you're also referring to tantric magic, but I don't think they'll get into that.

How will they activate it?

Unless they are lucky to find an already active one (like Tamlen and Mahariel...though they weren't so lucky)

And why are they even looking for one? I'm just curious how you would write this if you were writing this XD

Is it weird that I now want Merrill to shout "D'oh!" anytime she messes up?

Merrill has more of an early Simpsons Ralph Wiggum vibe.

Merrill to Hawke: You choo-choo-choose me?

If she were a "Family Guy" fan, however, even my totally Merrill-whipped reaver Hawke would have to run her through.

Merrill's too self-aware to be Ralph. Maybe more Martin.

Prior to him turning into an idiot, Ralph was the pariah of his class, that one weird kid who didn't have any friends. He was pretty dense and didn't know how to relate to people; his crush on Lisa had more to do with the fact that she showed him a brief kindness. That all said, Ralph showed he had hidden depths when he played George Washington.

Of course, later on, he became a total idiot.

Random observation: I just replayed the Dalish origin and the old Merrill intimidated me. She was stern and no-nonsense, I had forgotten how different she was.

Part of the problem is that the old graphics pretty much had the characters with a fixed expression for much of their dialogue. Merrill has the same stand-offish face throughout her role in DA:O while Morrigan, for example, goes through much of the game with the same snarky aloof expression save for a few scenes where there's a "jump" in the animation to get her "guilty puppy" face slapped on her model. While a lot of the graphics have been spartan in DA2, the changes in facial expressions is much smoother and natural.

not sure if this was talked about, but wondering, if Merrill was to drag Hawke off on vacation, where would the two go?

Somewhere with both a beach and a giant flowery meadow in which to frolic.

And, preferably, no circles of magi, templars, chantries, Qunari, ruins, caves, ancient relics or deep roads entrances within at least a hundred mile radius.

That "Skyrim" place, once they activated everyone's "bi" option.

That place doesn't exist.

Try for at least a 20 mile radius.

Then they will simply have to make their own island, out in the sea, with magic. And then populate it with flowers and trees and fluffy animals and live happily ever after.

The day Hawke goes to a beach is the day an armada of angry demon pirates show up.
