I don't really see blood magic as evil it's just another form of power exept insted of gaining power from lyrium I use part of my own lifeforce never anyone elses. In DA2 I intead to prove that there can be such things as Parogon Blood mages.
Ah yes, the "Boy Scout Blood Mage" argument: that one good blood mage proves that blood magic is not evil.
Listen, there's no one saying that blood magic can't be used ethically or responsibly. Jowan was a good natured (if not particularly wise) blood mage. It can be used to heal as well as to kill.
But blood magic above all other forms of spells lends itself to abuse. Blood magic is inherently harmful. Sure, you can restrict that harm to the magic-user, but how many maleficars do that? It's too easy to simply rip the life force out of another person to fuel your spells, and blood magic allows mages to work enchantments that simply wouldn't be possible on their own. This is coupled with the fact that blood magic can be used to enslave the minds of others, an ability that is unique to that school of magic.
One good maleficar doesn't erase all the incredibly horrible things that blood magic has been used for. Time and again, this magic has been used to fuel some of the worst atrocities in Thedas' history. I've said it before and I'll say it again: just because you don't like the Chantry doesn't mean they don't have a point.
