I wonder if Mer-Mer will mention Tamlen.
I was wondering that too, especially if your Warden from Origins was Dalish. If there is a cameo from the Warden, would that even be something he or she would want tell Merrill? It's very, very
PS. I love the nickname Mer-Mer.

That's what I'm hoping for too. Just need to finish Awakening,GoA, and WH with my Dalish Warden...

What I don't understand - and I'll quit my tirade with this point - is how Bioware can craft such a marvelous and unique looking universe in Mass Effect, and then struggle so much with it in Dragon Age. Do they have completely separate design teams?
Plus, with ME, it was sci-fi, and a new universe. They could do whatever they wanted with it. With DA, they are working against decades of D&D style elves and such. Redesigning things to be original and not ticking people off at the same time is hard...
She really doesn't look 13, look at her face. From the screenshot, it looks like she is walking towards the group with her shoulders back. they are not as small as they look. And once again, the breasts are a graphical glitch, they are going to be a lot smaller. I live in America and I know, and have known, a lot of girls that look a lot younger than they are.
As for the new style and the difference between fenris and merrill, she is born and bred dalish, and he was a tevinter slave. The codex, and a few NPCs, states that dalish elves live and age differently from city elves because they are not being "quickened" by the human pace of life. The elves originally lived and aged veeeerrrrry slowly.

It varies. The art style in DA2 has changed so the look of everything has changed. On average the more well known a character from DA:O was, the closer their look will be (again on average) in DA2. IMHO anything returning looks as good or better than the original.Saibh wrote...

I can tell you that there certainly was effort to make anyone seen in Origins look similar in DA2. Sometimes it's not always possible to make them look exactly the same. And sometimes, thats even a good thing.
Hm...I see it. I mean, you guys changed the basic facial structure of the elves. I think you did a pretty good job to keep her looking somewhat similar. In any case, does this mean her eyes are still blue? They look hazel to me, but the lighting affects all the colors.
Out of curiousity, how close would you say you got the human characters to look similar to their past counterparts, if you kept the same face?

Yeah... first time I played a Dalish PC, I had already played once or twice through with other origins so I knew about the camp attack. But I did not see that coming. I sat there staring at the screen for a while. Most emotional the game ever made me, and that's saying something.SavesTheDay wrote...

I'm assuming Merrill would have heard about what happened to him, though I guess that might not be true for every PC since it would necessitate the Dalish Warden surviving the Blight and contacting her clan again. So Merrill might only know that he disappeared. I think that's all Ariane said about him, now that I think of it.

The video I put up of it gets the most comments of any of them, including the nekkid ones, which also is saying something.

Blew my mind when I played a DE, also. I remember thinking. "Cool, it's the camp attack" Then, "hey, who's that?" Then . . .I just kind of stared, and went "no way!!!".
Very neat game addition, there . . . and yes, very moving.

The only thing that worries me about this is the possibility of Merrill becoming an abomination, while being a companion, and the game forcing us to kill her...
And knowing Bioware writers, I can see that coming... I imagine Mary Kirby is a doll, but on the other hand, Mr Gaider (lead writer) is a royal piece of work, always boasting how he loves to
If that'll be the case, I only hope they at least give a posible way out... After all, in Origins it was posible to save Connor, a snooty, good-for-nothing daddy's boy, and we're talking about DA2 best female elven character here...

Wow...that was incredibly poignant. I wasn't even aware that moment exsisted. I've never completed DAO with any other Origin except M!Amell and M!Cousland. I did play the DE Origin, but as a Male so there would not have been any romantic attachment I think. Ironically, I thought there might have been...*something* between Merril and the Daelish PC, however it wasn't enough to whoo me away from playing a Mage. Speaking of which, seeing another example of the Mod you incorporated (permitting a Daelish Mage) I'm once again glad that the console version is getting a lot more focus this time around.
Oh, I'm sure modders will still find ways to make DA2 on PC superior to the console version with mods that change the game considerabily. Still it's nice to know console players won't completely get the short end of the stick this time. It's too bad I don't have the PC version though...I've always wished Gaider would have allowed the Human Noble to be a Mage outside the Circle. I could think of several ways it could have worked within the context of the story and game lore. Ah well...

One of the commenters pointed out something I hadn't thought of, which is that the AD might have sent Tamlen to kill the Warden on purpose, as a kind of psychological terror attack. And then another commenter put it very well: "Too far, Archdemon. TOO FAR!"glenboy24 wrote...

Ok, I have to stop, verklemmt.
I am thinking of importing this PC's game, but not sure how the Dalish mage mod will import. The mod works very well in Origins apart from Broken Circle, and Awakening also was firing correctly, but in Witch Hunt she did not get the Dalish-specific stuff so obviously the DLC was confused.

Yeah, I know. Keyword in there was "thought" as in "at the time." Since then, after finding out from others how the DE story progresses (minus the tamlen moment) it became abundantly clear that there wasn't anything. It's one of the reasons I mentioned to Mary Kirby that I felt Merril got short-changed in DAO, and why I'm thrilled that not only is she a major character in DA2, but that she might be a LI as well. Bully for us.
