I am really trying to moderate my disappointment, but being a Dalish fan, it's hard to do. After Velanna, I was hoping for a Dalish character who was neither "die shem" nor... this. Basically someone you could actually take seriously, rather than a caricature.

Desperately trying to keep an open mind, failing.

But we don't know how she'll act.. She still be someone you can take seriously. You can be cute, and also be confident, and serious.. Being cute doesn't diminish her value..

Needs more Nate and clownish comments, I'd say this character based on pure aesthetics of course has the least interest for me, but meh, I'm sure that personality wise she'll be fun, though if she really is oozing cute she'll be relegated to the stay home party which is chaired by Wynne. But that's cool variance and all.

Dear lord...

My champion's rise to power is starting to look like a political sh*tstorm.  Cause Merrill is officially my first character's love interest.  To me, Isabella looks interesting enough that I'll probably like her more in the long run (which is what happened with Zevran), and Aveline is just making me wish there's that angle of "Best friends, would do anything for each other but nothing more" that I can play, but Merrill is just CUTE...although I will laugh if, after everyone calling her such, she turns out to be so dark and grim that even Morrigan flinches at her.  

I sort of had the idea in my head that a Dalish would be a companion in DA2 ever since Awakening...granted, she isn't confirmed as such, and I'm probably just blowing smoke...but if Bioware had a dollar for every speculation on this board that amounted up to smoke, they'd be rich enough to buy a yacht or something.   But geez...a mage champion in a society that has such a fear of mages fixated into it, with an elven wife/love interest who is *also* a mage...delicious politcs.

If you're talking about the tattoos, they're still there. Basically they took her Origins look, made her more "cute," and gave her a giant rack.

She looks 12.   I keep waiting for the Dalish to be the fierce warriors that are described in the lore and had hoped we would finally see that in DA2 versus the fairly whimsical presentation in Origins.
