I sort of had this thought when we first saw Cassandra, then sort of dismissed it right away. "Nah, not gonna happen, don't even bother wishing."

Then this video went and drudged that all back up.

I have a feeling that Cassandra will be either an ally or an enemy towards the end of the game when we get into the 'war' that we keep hearing about. If Hawk was someone who took the Mages side in these battles than she'll probably fight against you. If Hawk took the Templar's side she probably becomes and ally in the war.

Actually I can see her rocking up as a companion in DA3. With DA2 being about the world coming to the brink of war, set in Kirkwall around Hawke, and DA3 being about that war itself. Also remember this her questioning Varric sometime after the events in DA2 making her...quite young at the start of DA2 you freaks

I'm glad you think so. I really got this vibe with Morrigan, the Dark Ritual, and a Warden who takes the "Grey Wardens do whatever it takes" mantra to heart, though Morrigan's more of a sorcerous vizier than a bodyguard.

I tend to play all my fantasy CRPG PCs and their romantic interests this way, actually. In Baldur's Gate II I did so with Viconia as my spellcasting mistress of darkness. Looooved the way the "evil" epilogue in Throne of Bhaal with Viconia made you out to be the most badass couple of magnificent bastards the Realms had ever seen. You were like David Xanatos from Gargoyles hooking up with The Baroness from G.I. Joe.

Anyway, I digress. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Aveline having an anti-hero side.

How would it not? She represents the Chantry, and Hawke is--or has a sibling who is--an apostate. You might as well call them Cassandra Capulet and Garrett Montague.

You have a point about fitting into it though. Obviously it can't happen if we never catch up to the present. But even if we don't, there's always the next game or DLC.

I've never been into the Sims before (a video game where you just buy a house, get married, go shopping... the HORROR !) but the "medieval" part suddenly adds value to the franchise to my eyes ! Who knows...
