You'd probably have to be a hardcore Chantry fanatic in order to romance her, and I am 86.3% against the Chantry. I suppose she could be a good option though, if Bioware decided to make her such. Bioware did sort of hint about non-companion romance options.

I'm sure other people know more about the story so far than I do, so correct me if I'm off base on any of this, but I can think of a couple of possible avenues by which a Hawke-Cassandra relationship could develop:

1. She is looking for Hawke at first, and later finds him or her, and circumstances place them on the same side (or else they're on the same side to begin with)

2. She knows more about Hawke than she lets on to Varric. Maybe their paths did cross at some points during the story, but not while Varric was around. Maybe she is feigning ignorance to Varric for reasons unbeknownst to us (but beknownst to her)

Anyway. Just saying.

Remember it has been mentioned she'll have a much more important role in a hypothetic DA 3. So she'll probably will be romanceable, just not in this game.

Clarification to my previous post: by "relationship," I mean any kind of relationship-- friendly, antagonistic, one of mutual respect, or any combination of those things and more. As foxy as she is, I cannot support the shoehorning of out-of-place romances into places they do not belong.

Edit: ...which, looking back, is quite redundant.  I'll leave it be, though, just because.

I have to say, the first time I ever saw her, way back in the first trailer, I was thinking the same thing I am now.  Maybe she WILL be romanceable.  Maybe not.  That won't stop me trying.

ohhhhhh....you're assuming that the only people who want to romance her are MEN, haha.
or that there would be any "bowning" on her part. i for one love a strong woman. incredibly tsundere cassandra is all i need in life.
