Not to fussed, Alistair (Steve Valentine) & Morrigan (Claudia Black) were effectively voiced by Scottish and Australian actors/actresses. As long as the voice actor is able to portray both good and evil, I’ll have no problem with them, that’s from a Brit :P

Sounds like an upper-middle class home counties accent to me.

Besides, as a brit its nice to hear a voice that isn't American in a VG. There are other countries ya know?

Hearing Vaughn the Rapist's voice coming from Hawke creeps me out quite a bit. I was hoping he'd change it up a bit.

As for his actual accent? I don't know... it's Englishy? lol

I'm actually really happy about that. An unabashedly heroic voice like Mark Meer's completely breaks my characters.

Don't get me wrong, I like the voice actor, I only wish he'd changed it up just a bit. Oh well. Maybe I'll get used to it and come to associate the voice with Hawke more than Vaughn.

I suppose it's not unlike how many people couldn't get past Kaidan sounding just like Carth.

Hawke doesn't sound like Vaughn to me (meaning, when I listen Hawke talk I don't remember Vaughn). Probably because they look different :<

Vaughn left a permanent scar on my brain. Most likely why I associate the voice with him :pinched:

Yeah, he was a bastard. But I aways cut his head or let him to root (except one time, and I let him poor), so he's already dead in my mind.

I think that voice is tailored to a particular look. I can't just make any face I want in the character creator and have it fit with that voice. I could be wrong, but...

Anyway, I'd prefer a more neutral voice that isn't so... "ethnically biased". Just my opinion.

Lol, this guy has no idea what he is on about, there is no such thing as a neutral American accent, same with 'neutral English'. There different viriaties, I'm sure somone from New Jersey doesn't sound like someone from Texas, and I'm even more sure someone from London does not sound like a Scouser.

Ferelden is based partialy on irish folklore just look at morrigan and Flemeth both are irish mythology characters.
And Irish accents are much sexier than British ones,OGB in Da3 i demand he/she have a DUBLIN accent .

imagine -OGB-alri boss whats the crack
nutin much how yerself any crack/news.

The Morrígan is a figure in Irish mythology. Our Morrigan shares the name only coincidentally, despite the uncanny similiarities.

Also, I cannot think of any Flemeth equivalent in Celtic mythology.

My voice acting standards are only high when it comes to English accents and trust me his effort was baaaad.
Asses instead of arses, roat instead of route that's not how one speak the Queens english

Alistair's accent was completely authentic, so let's not try to be highbrow. Unless you want to tell me how inauthentic Leliana's accent is, as well. ;)

This topic always makes me chuckle when it comes up because of how much Hawke's voice sounds like/reminds me of my own. I even grew up in the Westcountry (a rural area of England with typically heavy accents) and my family is certainly not 'posh' yet I spoke in RP. I ended up getting called posh at school for it (and this is in my own country, even more confusion is expected for non-Brit's) so I can understand people thinking it makes Hawke sound 'stuck up' and whatnot, but seeing as his mother is/was a noble (or at least, not a commoner) there is no reason why Hawke couldn't speak in RP as well.

Overall I like what I've heard of Hawke's VA, more so than Male Shepard certainly. I do think we need to hear more to get a clear idea of quality though.

If he sounded 'gruff and tuff' it wouldnt fit a Mage or Rouge.

If he sounded 'pomp and frilly' it wouldnt fit a Warrior.

So a middle ground was made, it may come across as "bland" but its the best possible outcome save for multiple voices. Which is just unrealistic.

I'd rather hear nothing than hear a bland voice say things.

But, well, it's DA2 . . so we get bland.

From what we've heard I like it too. At least he doesnt have that mega tool voice like Murdock who one second sounded like a gruff-man-gruff lumberjack to a Theater perfomer the next.

He sounds posh way to posh for a penniless commoner which is how they described him. I was hoping for an Irish accent. Or Scottish. In every game that's based in a UK/Ireland analog they forget about Irish and Scottish accents and everyone has Welsh or British accents. British accents that all come from one area of Britain.

You do realise that Scottish and Welsh people are British?

Yeah, seriously, this post doesn't really make any sense at all.
