Edit (after reading Kyonhism's post immediately below):
So, I decided to buy a physical copy of the Platinum Edition when I saw about 20 on the shelf at Frys. I figured it would be updated to v1.231765. (v1.231763 patch was released about June of 2009, v1.231765 was released August of 2009, Platinum Edition was released in Dec 2010). Holy Moly. Good thing I didn't have any respect for Atari, because I would have lost it this time. Now I know I'm not buying a physical copy.

There are also "Mod Fixes" on the Vault.
These are intended to patch the original game’s modules when the expansion pack is installed without updating the base game.
nwn2_pcx2_scriptfix_from1201541_to1201541.zip nwn2_pcx2_modfix_nx1_from1211549_to1221587.zip
pcx2_scriptfix does this:Note: Script_X1.zip should be included with other patches. In some instances, the installer likes to remove the script_x1 file. This package looks to see if you are missing that file and, if you are, it places it back there.
pcx2_modfix seems to update some MotB dialogue files.

It has all the patches, so far as I can tell, and the readme in the file gives a good explanation of which patches should be downloaded for which version, although it doesn't give any explanation as to how to use them.
That being said, I couldn't get the patcher to work with these (or the ign) patches using the offline method. The patcher just gave me "Can't detect internet" errors and stopped doing anything, as far as I can tell (no messages about looking for or finding patch files or anything).
I subsequently tried using TNT's patcher with the set of patches from the atari ftp, and everything worked wonderfully. The game is fully functional and stable, so far as I've been able to tell so far.

Well, with IGN going poop, this just got even harder...
How does one actually use the RTP files to update NWN2?

Well, with IGN going poop, this just got even harder...
How does one actually use the RTP files to update NWN2?
It's late, but since I had the issue recently and found some information here and in other place, and since I could update this way up to the last version, I'll add both links covering all the zip files without responsibility. This is by no means an official or knowledgable answer.
1. http://neverwinterva...rements_tid=101
(pc is for no expansion (OC), pcx1 is for 1st only (OC+XP1), and pcx2 is for both (OC+XP1+XP2))
2. Some files links above don't work, or some steps are missing, so you may look for the files here too: ftp://ftp.atari.com/patches/nwn2/
browse the correct folder fitting for your version, then look for the EXACT files you needed which weren't downloading correctly from neverwintervault.
I used a different method than others or than the recommended way (after the updater program updated itself automatically and then failed to update the patches from the net, I was putting (copying) all the zip files (since and including the file noted as not found in the initial update) as is in the (main) game folder and using a regular updater again and again once per each patch until the last version which is 1.231765,) so I can't help much here beside putting the links as is and saying without taking responsibility that all patches all the way up from 1.00788 and up to 1.231765 could be found here. Be careful to download the appropriate "steps" (e.g. for NWN2 in English without expansion, http://neverwinterva...h-100788-105912, then http://neverwinterva...h-105912-106972 and then http://neverwinterva...h-106972-106973 and so on up to the last version) without any gaps, and correct for your own version! Be careful to check if the source is trusted. Some additional files may be needed for intallations with any expanasion, see the added note bellow.
P.S.
I don't know about expansions but those MIGHT need other "fixes" (of previously installed update?) such as modfix for XP1 (at least if OC alone was installed before) or vofix and scriptfix for XP2 - this depending on the exapansion.
Having no experience with this additional patching needed, all I can add is:
Download all needed files along with those "stepped" installations and "process" those with the others, in my non recommended way I didn't have to unzip anything only putting the zip files into my game folder etc. the readme file on atari site may help, or alternatively others here instructed of the more common way to do this. Make sure you have ALL the needed files.

I'm currently having this problem and none of the links I can find work. Nor does my updater wish to function.
For the record I have 1.020.1541 and need to at least update it enough to overcome the SoZ glitch which wrecks the dialogue in MotB and causes the OC campaign to crash at the Sunken Flagon.
Help?

The links provided in post #41 above you aren't working for you? I just tried them, and they work for me.
