An invisible cursor made the game nearly impossible for me to play, the fix for me was:

Control Panel >> Mouse >> Pointer Options >> Display Pointer trails  "FALSE" 

Turn off the trails (uncheck the box) and you should get your cursor back in game.  Hope this helps people.
