Mass Effect 1 vs Mass Effect 2
http://social.biowar...596/polls/1670/
Mass Effect 1 - 37%, Mass Effect 2 - 63%
http://social.biowar...596/polls/4081/
GameSpot User Scores:
ME1: 9.1 360, 8.9 PC
ME2: 9.4 360, 9.3 PC
(you can also check other sites if you want, in every last one ME2 has a higher user score than ME1)
Of course, arrogant haters still gonna hate and won't admit to anything.
Those polls were made specifically because the vocal minority of haters insisted they were the majority. Back then there were even more haters. You create as many polls as you want, you'll get the same results, and arrogant people still won't admit anything.Remus Artega wrote...

BTW, it wasn't till April that I got a lot of votes on the ME1 vs ME2 poll. Back then ME1 had 40%, and every month it's getting less and less...
Put together is pushing it, even if KOTOR is the best RPG I've ever played.Mash Mashington wrote...

Vocal minority. It's a QUITE COMMON occurance on forums of any type. Go to a rap forum and everyone there is hating on the "mainstream" rappers while fawning over some clown that's been underground and unheard of for the last 5 years. Go to an MLB forum and everyone is hating on the Yankees, go to an NFL forum and everyone is hating on the Patriots. And yet "mainstream" rappers sell more records, the Yankees are the biggest business in sport, and the Pats sell more gear than the Browns do.
Popular opinion on internet forums often flies in the face of popular opinion practically ANYWHERE else. Polls can be just as bad, but there's usually at least some insulation since many lurkers who DON'T post will click on a simple poll.

The only part of ME2 that are better, are just graphics.

Welcome to a Developer forum.
While there's nothing to be said for somebody's subjective personal opinion the fact that ME2's racking up awards left and right not just from critical acclaim but from reader poll's involving thousands of voters indicates that they did something objectively right.

That's becuase mainstream rap is pretty crap. They are famous becuase they talk about money, sex, drugs and guns, also using that stupid auto-tune on there voice. Yet the underground guy is usually a actual poet, and talks sense, usually atleast.

It's a case by case basis. Nas and Jay are mainstream, they still murk the vast majority of underground garbage I've heard. Lupe Fiasco can't really be considered underground any more, he crushes most underground rap I've heard as well. Rappers aren't good on the whole cause they're underground or bad on the whole cause they're mainstream.

I agree, thats what I meant by ''usually atleast'' but the majorty of mainstream are sell-outs it seems, although I suppose that applies to any genre of music.

Yeah. Man it feels good to talk hip hop on the Mass Effect forums. Last time I got into it the thread got locked.

I think i wasn't clear.
I know that mass effect 2 is way better than mass effect 1 in what means gameplay, graphics, strong software, etc.
but what is it with mass effect 1 then? i believe is the atmosphere, the soundtrack and the reality of the universe, the story...aside from what the game was, it was more "real" than mass effect 2 is. ME2 is way too unreal.
I mean...what about shepard's death? what about only Cerberus fighting against all the reapers? what about the alliance? maybe they are stupid...but that doesnt mean that they dont exist.
i'm not saying that illium, omega or the universe in wich the game takes place is unreal, im saying that the way the story turned in mass effect 2 was way too unreal compared to mass effect 1, still , that doesn't mean for me that the game is bad, actually, mass effect is the best series ever created, for me.

+ Better story
+ Better RPG
+ Better cooldown and skill-system
- Some bugs
- Mako
- Inventory
ME2
+ Better Shooter
+ Better Renegade/Paragon system
- Too many companions
- Too simplified
- Ammo powers
- No inventory
I'm not saying which one is better because I liked both of them.

.
And there is really no room for comparison, ME1 was a fantastic game, but it had many flaw and was underdeveloped. ME2 is just superior.
.
Edit: Mass Effect 1 wasn't a better RPG, it was more closer to a tradicional RPG. Because ME2 is a big step foward to what RPG should be like.

Alot of the streamlining in ME2 isn't only good, but necessary. (dull exploration, omni-gelling everything, every option on the dialouge saying the same thing)bjdbwea wrote...
I think that ME 1 is better than ME 2 in every aspect, except obviously graphics and sound. ME 1 is one of those games that prove that video games can be their own, unique form of art. ME 2 on the other hand is a "streamlined" product for the mass market that lost almost everything that I liked about its predecessor.
I agree some cuts were too far, such as no make (even for story missions) and a far less accesible inventory, but on the whole, ME2 is a more enjoyable RPG, and it focus more on choices and dialouge then the dull, 90's aspects of RPG's. It still has a great and vibrant universe, though I do still prefer the ME1 storyline.

Obviously. People love moaning. Plus, I love the game, but I've never made a "Zomg THANK YOU AMAZING GAME BIOWARE" thread, but when I've been disatisfied, I've made a thread. People always talk more about faults then about sucessess, imo.Remus Artega wrote...

Like I said, general consesus and polls show ME2 is indeed more popular. If you don't believe me, I can make a poll now to test it, without "hype as the game has just been released" interefering.

And what is the problem with the MAKO? Yeah if you just drive in a straigth line it is your mistake. There are path you could use... you only need to find them.
