Why do you want multiplayer? Mass Effect is a perfectly fine game without multiplayer. Adding multiplayer has the potential to do more harm then good.

Ignore him. He seems to be adamant in forcing his opinion on everyone. I, for one, want ME3 to be a single player experience. Bioware can do whatever the hell they like afterwards. I probably won't be buying any ME related stuff after this series anyway.

Yeah....don't feed the troll.

But god....EA being in control of the direction a series goes?  :crying:  Yeah.....'cause Command & Conquer was such a GREAT game with EA at the helm....<_<

I like IGN's list better, cept for IGN's mention of too many ME1 refrerences.

We need MORE.

Yeah....this would be nice, because for those of us who PLAYED the first game it helps immerse me into the universe that much more.  There's a word for this.....CONTINUITY.....and it helps me at least get in synch with the ME Universe.

Although, because of the PS3 port and the fact that they made ME 2 to also be stand alone....I see why they opted to not have as many ME 1 references.
....Which is sad....:crying:

Meh, I had fun with it back in the day. Besides they don't have to implement it exactly the same way, it was just an example of how games have made it work before without any damage to the single player campaign.

As far as RE5 is concerned you and him are saying different things. I agree with you, but he was basicaly saying the game was unplayable without a partner, which the game most certainly is not. Like I said, i have beaten the game by myself twice, it is not difficult in any way.

Uh, Hard and Professional were a pain in the ass, considering how stupid Chris or Sheva's A.I. is.

Lots of games are a "pain in the ass" on higher dificulties...

Uh, I mentioned the problem: ****ty A.I. Reading comprehension hard for you?

It wasn't that big of a problem though... or do you honestly think no one has ever beaten RE5 on profesional by themselves? Or that RE5 was the hardest game ever because of the partner AI? You might not like playing it solo because of the dumb AI, but that does not make it impossible to play solo even on the higher difficulties.

Only if they're handled better.  It's bad enough in ME2 to see 6 ME1 references all standing 30 feet from each other...
Oh, what a coincidence, Liara, Gianna, Conrad, Shiala, the rachni ambassador, and Nelyna's mom are all in the same space port on the same planet in the Terminus Systems 2 years after meeting Shepard, and they just happen to be there when Shep visits.

Small world, eh?

And I don't think I really need to mention the emails. :?

Not fond of parts of the list, especially the bit about cooldowns as opposed to thermal clips.  Still, a fun article concept.

Because it look like the Terminator and the fight wasnt really special. All it was missing was Shepard saying "Get to the Normandy!!!"

Actually, Shep does say that, when talking to [whoever was left behind to hold the line] after the first part of the boss fight.

I just got my issue of Official Xbox Magazine and they had an article about ME3. The article is about their hopes and fears.

This is what they want:

Hopes:

Co-Op
Squadmates to return
Romances to be more in depth and be less about sex
Some small things(like sharing the drink with Chakwas, Conrad Verner)
Big events(Wrex on Virmire, Becoming a Spectre)

Fears:

Any kind of multiplayer(besides Co-Op)
Things like planet scaning and the Mako
Things like ME2 final boss
Having ammo instead of guns overheating

Things They Need to Happen(OXM):

Rachni coming back
Genophage being cured
Geth and the Quarian working together for the final battle
Keepers having something to do with it
To kill Udina

I don't understand why u hope for co-op but u fear multiplayer, co-op would kill the game more than multiplayer, co-op they probably would change all the game to make it more co-op like, slow mo disapear, gameplay would change to those who choose solo or co-op. Multiplayer normaly is a game apart of singleplayer experience, normaly producers change a bit gameplay or other things for multiplayer and let the singleplayer the way it is. So I fear Co-op and I don't care if they add multiplayer (well I still think it would be pretty awesome to see a deathmatch between all the classes, my Vanguard would win :D)

more on the thread:
Hopes:
Kill Aria T'lok (or what ever is her name);
Kill some team mate like a semi-boss(I really would like to kill Jacob or Kaiden xD)
more social converstations, ask about things that don't matter for anyone, some partys, fights with casual suit(no shields no bonus, not like kasumi that with out armor u still had ur kinectic barriers);
Triangle love, choose between ME1 love vs ME2 love, girls fight would be awesome but I think this is asking too much xD
Fears:
thing I most fear is Miranda not returning(Yvone Strahotski)
Game not getting more than 20hours walkthrough with out counting cutscenes and side missions

Let's make this short and sweet :

Hopes : BioWare being BioWare.

Fears : People complaining.

Mass Effect 3 will be more epic than Me 1 & 2 united.

BioWare made 2 games, best game of the year, Me2 have over 70 perfect review...

and people still fear that Me 3 will be a flop.

It's like i don't know.. praying everydays and thinking when you go to bed "god = bad".

No i don't pray, and yes i believe in BioWare even if they work with 'Electronic Ass'.

I agree, but don't get me started on the emails.

I HATED those. Every single one of them should've been interactions in my opinion.

The emails screamed copout to me, and I NEVER call a copout on a game.

Agree, except swap Co-op and "Having ammo instead of guns overheating" around.

The ammo system is fine, and multi ruins story driven games (Bioshock 2 anyone?)
oh, and don't leave the double-importers out in the cold, some of us LIKED seeing minor characters from ME return.

It's funny how they wish for Co-Op but fear any other kind of multiplayer. Because it's co-op that will do the most amount of damage to single player gameplay.

Why don't you want anymore after ME3? Do you have low expectations? Do you not like how the series is going?

Honestly, I kinda do have low expectations for it. As much as I enjoyed ME2 I was still disappointed that I didn't see many consequences for the decisions I made in ME1. I can only guess that Bioware are saving that for ME3, or that they just said our actions will make a difference to suck everyone into the games.
I also expect a lot of FPS ME-style shootemups after ME3, it's pretty clear EA are in control of where the series is going.

Yeah, I'm starting to have low expectations for ME3 too. BioWare did say that they are saving the consequences for ME3 but PS3 users are only getting 6 choices in that comic. How much could our ME1 choices mean to us in ME3 if PS3 users don't get the same thing. The only thing that could matter a lot would be those 6 choices and squadmates living or dying since PS3 users can't carry over ME1 sidequests and pretty much all sidequests in ME2 had no dialogue and choices, unlike ME1.

Whats wrong with multiplayer? This is the last Mass effect so I think that Bioware should go all out and add a multiplayer feature.Multiplayer would give people even more reasons to go back and play it.ME3s excellent story wont be affected by multiplayer because Bioware has a separate team making the multiplayer.

This is not the last Mass Effect. This is just the end of Shepard's story. There will be more Mass Effects after this where they could add multiplayer. Just because there is a seperate team doesn't mean it won't affect the single player. They would still be devoting resources that could be used for single player and like others have said before they would have to change combat around to work for multiplayer since this game uses power and isn't just a regular old shooter like other multiplayer games. They can wait to put in multiplayer after the trilogy ends. I want the end of Shepard's story the best it can be and having multiplayer could ruin that.

@ fmsantos39

No these aren't my hopes and fears. These are Official Xbox Magazine's. I don't want any kind of multiplayer.

I would rather have an amazing trilogy than an amazing two games and a mediocre third.

So that being said....No multiplayer...ever. It would ruin the whole aspect and experience that is ME.

I also wish they would bring back a bigger variety in guns.

Here's hoping that EA lets Bioware work their magic without interfering, lest we will have just witnessed one of the ultimate nightmares of the RPG gamer.

I dont know why some of you people are so against competitive multiplayer when its completely separated and has no effect on the singleplayer unlike Coop. Personally if EA decided to tack on some multiplayer I'd happily well come it, maybe it will add a little more longevity to the game, maybe it could actually be good, who the heck knows but saying its gonna have a negative effect on the story with no probable cause is just silly.

I tend to agree with the Multiplayer Scenario, I wouldn't mind some MP style Deathmatches and what not using the game system...But I wouldnt want CO OP as that would effect the single player aspect of the Story more than a seperate MP mode would.

That said, as long as 3 turns out as enjoyable as 1 and 2, I could care less what bonuses they toss in
