To be honest, I don't mind all that much, as long as both components are good.

Yes...I want this wonderful franchise to appeal to as many people as possible. If the Mass Effect universe is embraced by more people it is a win for all of us. :)

Heh. How many "definitive" polls have been done on this subject, and how many have returned an overall positive/receptive response to ME3 multiplayer?

Hint: the overwhelming majority of people who read this forum do not want ME3 to have any multiplayer aspect. It says nothing of the merit of the idea, that's up to you to decide, but I doubt the popular sentiment will ever be swayed in favor of multiplayer no matter how many polls you start or how stubborn you are about creating new threads for discussion.

Damn it! How many times do I have to answerer this question! All those wanting multiplayer and co-op need to check before posting new threads! No matter how many times you ask, the answer will still be no.

My guess: (almost) Nobody wants it; BW is going to release ME3 with MP anyways

...then (almost) everybody is going to moan and ****, but somehow will still end up buying it regardless.

In the end EA will be surprised how ME3 sold roughly "just" as much units as ME2, despite the shiny new MP-mode.

Well come on, you don't have to be Nostradamus to make that prediction for these forums. :P

Well that's true. BW could announce that ME3 will be the longest RPG they made *e*v*e*r*...and there probably will still be some people moaning "what...now I have to change discs *twice* during my 100 hour playthrough ? Get your sh*t together BW !"

I do not want multiplayer anywhere near ME3. In a spin-off maybe, but definitely not in the last part of the trilogy.

This.

The only thing I'd enjoy about multiplayer is trolling other players with Heightened adrenaline rush :P

If EA insists, gets a decent dev to make the MP with Bioware's Approval, ... then I would totally play as a Turian. Be nice to play with a smart team (I say this as Grunt pumps a few rounds out of a shotgun at a distance.) sigh.

I can only imagine the drama here on the boards of they come out and announce mulitplayer in ME3.

Just look at what happened on the DA2 forums with the changes made to the game. The Devs had to start posting on a regular basis trying to calm everyone down.

If they come out and announce MP they will need 24hr staff on this forums to cope with the constant barrage fo nerd-rage.

Ill be raging hard myself.

if the leaked posts stating Chris's rules on mutiplayer threads are true, then the answer "no" is might just be a cover-up. Anyways I hope they don't as it would be a very bad start for a good franchise.

Apparently, the mods are given a standard message to close a multiplayer thread with and it would also seem that nothing was denied..of course if it's true...

Oh, the core-fanbase will most definitely rage about a ME3-mp announcement.

...but somehow I suspect *if* BW is doing mp they're not going to do it for the core-fanbase.

But EA has the clout to get another dev to handle MP. Bioware wouldn't suffer time-wise. It's not ideal for someone else to touch the IP but if you're not interested in then you don't have to touch it.

All conjecture at this point tho.

73% (152 votes) - Absolutely Not!

14% (30 votes) - Maybe

11% (22 votes) Yes!

I think that sums it up so far......Bioware better be taking notes. If you want sales, please the customer (your fans who don't want multiplayer). You want a deduction in sales, go ahead and add multiplayer + risk the danger of an army of angry ME fans flooding through your doors.

Sadly, the sample size is too small to take any notice, a loss of 200 sales is quite a dent but not big enough to really have any problems.

I would like to have multi inside.

If it's bad I'm not going to play. If it's good - I am. It's a win/win situation unless they won't polish the single player because they were bussy doing the multi... but it's an unlikely scenario.

Why not?
I mean cone on - it's not a waste of your percious developer's precious time. Storyline quality will not be affected since writers / cutscene and cinematic desingers / character desingers / voice actors are not needed to develop a multiplayer aspect of the game unless the whole game is going to have a co-op (again - doubtfull). None of the team responsible for single player scenario would not be bothered to take care of multiplayer. That's work for a whole nother team. I think multiplayer is a bit like a gratis to the game - this is not Left 4 Dead where the whole game is build on multi.

If there is MP in Mass Effect 3 yall gonna buy it anyway..so why would it hurt sales? Lets think about it..for the 3 or 4 of you who would actually refuse to buy it because of MP. You must select the option to play MP! You dont have to if you dont want to.....jeez

And if there is and the single player is less for it I will hex everyone of you who said yes.

No. ME2 already took away from Shepard's story enough as it is. It doesn't make any damn sense for the last game to have multiplayer thrown into it but EA is all about catering to the casual audience.

Here's a quote I found from GameZenith: http://www.gamezenith.com/?p=522

"I can understand why this news of possible Mass Effect 3 multiplayer might ****** off a lot of fans. Many believe that by adding multiplayer to Mass Effect 3, it would take away from the great single player experience that Bioware is greatly known for. I would have to disagree with that because people have to understand that this job posting was for the Bioware Montreal studios, not Bioware Edmonton which is the core Bioware headquarters and where Mass Effect 3 is being developed."

So it wouldn't impede on ME3's story at all if a multiplayer mode is created, since the MP and SP will be worked on by separate teams. The story will still be flushed out as can be and so will the multiplayer.

SO does anyone know what happened with that leaked thread? Looks like it got deleted. Were there any comments made by the devs on those screenshots?
